Went for a long run in the beach found a nice deep spot of water close to the beach and tossed it in so a crab could have some bling.

The thing I agree with here is move forward but I would say take the time you need to do so, you’ve been separated for a few years now maybe it will just take more time for you to recognize how toxic things were together with her, divorce process even uncontested takes time maybe you need more of it to really experience what life is like without her. Again move on but not necessarily with someone else.

Unfortunately money will continue to drive politics not just the male or female vote several here have offered the solutions to keep coming but I feel it wouldn’t be enough to balance the scales to what currently flows through the court system

I was married for 8 years and kids are still young (school aged elementary) I was able to negotiate her leaving my retirement and alimony off the table in lieu of paying her debt off. CA is a 50/50 state which to my knowledge so is CO it would be more than worth your while to talk to a few lawyers get their take on what you’re proposing because if that’s close or more toward that 50/50 mark it’s possible. I think that’s pretty fair sounds close to an even split but Trouble is getting her to agre…

OP talk to several lawyers until you get one that will give you solid numbers specific to your situation. Not recommended but if you choose not to retain one pay them for a few hours of work to look at your financials and get numbers for what you’re looking for. It will be worth their fee. CA is very similar currently pay 1621 month for two kids. I was able to negotiate no spousal support, kept my retirement and used the sale of the house to pay off the debt she left me 40k plus. Then spent the …

My exw cheated I confronted her and she eventually projected all her bs onto me, like all the others have commented before you can forgive for yourself you never have to let her know and just be apathetic towards her. She will never be truly sorry for what she did and dwelling on it won’t make you the best for your children either. Take time work past it and concentrate on work and kids. You don’t have to high five and smile every time you’re around her or sit next to her in parent teacher confe…

Nearly a year and a half but I try to FaceTime and call frequently, can’t describe how it tears me up to not be involved in their lives like a father needs to be. I’m just a voice on the phone. It’s the family court system and the ex, I’m military had an agreement in CA and it wasn’t the best but had consistency. Orders came up I moved to NC, ex decided to move to ID without notice. Now nothing really stopping her from saying no to visitation. Going back to court but we all know the process and …

There is a cost associated with committing fraud if caught. I wouldn’t recommend your method, but would recommend not getting married and you keep what’s yours….

If I was you and had thoughts about this I wouldn’t be getting married in the first place. Not as an insult but not the best idea when you will be subject to local law anyways regardless of your plan. California doesn’t necessarily recognize the prenuptial agreement but you can prove assets were acquired prior to marriage and can serve as a good argument to keep come divorce time. Anything beyond that you run a lot of risk losing more than you think if you choose to tuck things away.

I would do the math with potential earnings for pension and balance that against what she gets in the short gain on the equity from the house…..ie is she gets 25% of your monthly pension over 20 years vice 20000 payout that she gets taxed over I would take the 20000 equity loss but that’s just me. Look at your numbers talk to a lawyer, find what you think is your best option and if you can come to an agreement via mediation great.

True but if that’s part of the agreement being drawn up I would sacrifice more of the equity vice pension

Keep your retirement!!!! It’s yours you/you’re working worked for it keep it safe so she doesn’t take a cent of your pension.

Depends on the lawyer and what you want I would say everything. Remember just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it won’t save you heartache and money down the road.

It’s about control, if you have to reply because there are some, not all but some messages that will warrant a response. How quickly are you responding to her? I guarantee not only your response and emotional control/health will be different if you take your time to respond. Nothing in that stream needed to be addressed immediately if at all. If you have to respond drag it out for hours if not days between messages. If you meet for exchanges before you message don’t engage in the subject tell he…

Consult a lawyer find out what your rights are and mentally prepare yourself for a battle. Don’t give in because you think it’s the easy way out it won’t be.

If you live in a 50/50 state you could have a right to some of that equity and the cost of upgrades consult a lawyer for all other items and be prepared to pay for it and don’t go it alone stay strong.

Talk to a lawyer, keep as little contact with her as possible ensure you record all conversations from here on out dont agree to anything yet. Stay in the home and don’t leave sleep on the couch separate room etc and tough it out. File ASAP

Unfortunately the case resides in CA and they maintain jurisdiction unless either mom or I submit to move it to Idaho, this is because it has to follow where primary custody is. Plans in motion to register out of state judgment and get support adjusted to Idaho but need time and more money. Women and courts always find a way to screw you over.

Yeah thinking that I will be able to at least pay my car payment etc plus the rent in NC wouldn’t be a problem until pay gets cut and she still gets the same amount….but again you learn it isn’t fair to men anyways and you can’t stop time

I agree talk to a lawyer and make sure you’re being looked out for. Ultimately it’s your decision as to what you want the outcome to be.
