Bc most women are crazy and know they can fleece their men. Your comment is silly. Apologist feminist sympathizer…you sound like a disgruntled guy who’s wife fleeced him, can’t get laid, and now hates all women. Par for the course on this thread. I’m simply pointing out that if you find an independent woman who makes more money, the marriage law that preys on men is rendered useless. The feminists I’ve met are driven to make money and be independent…which is a win-win in my book.

Disagree. Feminism could/should turn the tables. If the patriarchy is dead, women can take care of themselves and don’t have to leech… time will tell how that plays out but I think you got the wrong idea. Traditional marriage values and law is what fucks men in a divorce.

215k. Straight split of gains during marriage. Used a mediator with both of us being pro se. Took 93 days. Quick and easy but a tough pill to swallow as I worked/earned the entire marriage while she “found herself”/spent… marriage is a racket. Now I will only consider a serious relationship if it is with an independent woman who makes more money than me. I found one recently who is a self proclaimed feminist and is the opposite of everything I once was attracted to. And it’s great. She is intell…

A hard lesson I learned. A 7 is better than a 10… starfish are poisonous

Same! Fit 40 yr old dad with a good job and my own home. Started a dating profile and within a few days I had like 20 threads going. I’ve been out on several dates in first couple weeks and all have been good with two out of 3 being very good. Who would’ve thought…wish I would’ve gotten in the game sooner. Can’t imagine what it would’ve been like had I been 35 and come off the bench. Aside from women and more importantly, I have my confidence, independence and sense of adventure back. I feel lik…

I’m just going to date and meet interesting people. If there is chemistry and it leads to a bedroom, great…if not, whatever. I keep reminding myself, whatever you do, don’t get serious, split the check, and tell ‘em to kick rocks if they start clinging

I kept the house in my divorce through equity payout. I’ve observed this: all neighborhood women who knew my ex look at me with malice, while all their husbands seem to look at me with reverence…it’s a weird dynamic but I don’t give a fuck either way. I know I’m a good person…don’t hate me bc I’m fit, outgoing, have a good job, and all of a sudden back in the game. Fuck all the haters

Exactly! I convinced if you can get this done in mediation without separate lawyers, everyone wins (except the buzzards…banks, realtors, lawyers). That’s the route I’m going. I’d honestly rather pay half then get 60 and have the other 10% go to lawyers and banks.

Same situation and I’m in exact same boat. Half doesn’t seem fair (especially if spouse has a good job), but I’m told to expect to pay half. I’ll let you know how mine goes if you DM me

First off: Disregard all negative comments from d-bags in this forum. They’re overcome with resentment and appear to want to drag everyone else down to their level. My advice (as I was in a similar toxic marriage and felt lonely and lost..) is: 1. Stay positive and find hobbies that keep you busy, 2. Put yourself out there and make friends, 3. Regain some confidence (getting in shape will help) and accept that your marriage is over, 4. Avoid worrying about what she’s doing and who she is with…it…

I’m in same boat except my other half contributed 0% financially and will still apparently get half. Headed to mediation next week. Entitled…sure, the system enables this mindset. The contract of marriage truly is corrupt and bullshit. I’ve been told to just keep my anger at bay, bend over and accept it, and then move on to enjoy a new chapter. Seems like good advice but definitely hard to swallow

I agree with most of your sentiments. I do think there are women that are like-minded in this regard, but you’re not going to find them in western culture…especially not America. Our society is built on materialism, status, and narcissism…fueled by social media that permeates everything in life. To find what you’re looking for, I’d recommend taking a backpacking trip around the world. I have a friend who met a unicorn in Cambodia…(she doesn’t seem to care about money, stuff or status). Additiona…

Thanks. I seem to be in similar scenario. We’re living together currently…we agreed in principle on parenting plan with50/50 custody… I am concerned I’m going to get screwed on financial settlement but I guess I just have to accept it

I’m in similar boat…40, married for 8 years, kids, and about to go through mediation. Any advice or lessons learned you can share about meditation?

I make 130k and she makes 82k, so I’m thinking/hoping SS is not relevant

Thanks for the feedback. It sucks to see half my earnings/savings disappear simply bc we could not make it work. She has a good job and just isn't responsible with money, so the responsible party gets screwed. But I appreciate the advice...I'm trying not to get hung up on details...just want it to be over and hopefully not have too much resentment at the end

Is 50/50 asset split pretty much inevitable give it take? We agreed to 50/50 custody but I’m hung up on asset division as she has a good career and never contributed financially or saved any of her income. Just doesn’t seem fair

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
