Dude, at 17, you're technically still warming yourself up to the life you can build. You'll go through some crazy highs and some shitty lows. And believe me when I say that, despite them, you'll be totally fine. Homegirl here probably won't even be your worst heartbreak. Trust the process and allow yourself to relish through the joys and the pain. Those experiences are inherently what makes you YOU.

I'm starting to see why TRP meshes so well with your world views. You believe that, beneath the conditioning of our society to be kind, to feel guilt, etc., there is the primal "human", that animalistic predisposition in us, that craves to be at the top of the food chain. That everyone would naturally choose to be conquerers if it were not for the widespread encouragement to "be and accept yourself" and our need to conform to societal standards. I have never thought of it that way, so pretty int…

Happiness is an emotion in my book. And just like anger or sadness, emotions never last. So no, I'm not always happy. Though I have reached a point where I feel connected with my purpose, which makes the process of prioritizing my well-being almost effortless. Why does essentialism have to go in direct opposition with naturalism, and not be a mild complement? I'm unfamiliar with these terms, but I've read the definitions and did not come to that conclusion. I'm a firm believer that our environme…

I get that you've been associating self-love/acceptance with a negative connotation, but I don't understand why that has any impact on this post. Me being a loser in your standards does not make my own experiences any less relevant or applicable in my own life. ---Focusing on being rational vs. understanding why I'm often irrational Preach. I've been doing the former my whole life (even during TRP). I only started considering the latter post-TRP, when I started to unwind conversations with my pr…

If you look at it theoretically, it may seem that what I define as self-love precedes the hard work and feels undeserved. But practically speaking, (which is the preferable grounds we're talking about) I see self-love and hard work as an endless cycle constantly reinforcing each other. There's no clear distinction which aspect comes first, and frankly, it doesn't really matter either. Self-love doesn't mean giving into all my desires either. It means caring for my well-being first and foremost. …

I think I get your point now. I'm personally into the "self-acceptance" that doesn't revolve around using it as an excuse. My statement would like something like: "I seek validation (point A) very often, and for me to move past that, I must accept and acknowledge that I am this way right now. I also found that there is a better way to derive self-worth, and that is self-love (point B). In order for me to move from point A to B, I must admit that I'm at A in the first place. Self-love doesn't giv…

Did you type this while cooked? The fact that we don't agree on many concepts doesn't disprove my interpretation, nor yours. We simply are operating with our own version of the "pill".

1- It wasn't about being happy, it was about having proper closure with a child who has never been comforted. During these sessions, I make sure to tell him that I accept how he felt and that I'm willing to work through it using new experiences that serve to reframe the bad narrative into a better one. 2- In my experience, you're partially right. It's great when rules are established, especially for those who just started out, because more often than not they aren't able to hold themselves accou…

Who cares? What does knowing our opinion of a LVF have to do with your views?

Thank you for your compliment. Never heard of IFS. All fine and good but it takes a great deal of insight to recognize when one’s mental point of origin may indeed be flawed and need updating beyond the realm of TRP. Well-said man. To become their own mental point of contentment, one has to define what "contentment" means to them in the first place. One unhealthy entanglement and they will start off their journey in the wrong trajectory, just like I did.

If you constantly think you’re not good enough and have to keep grinding and grinding, guess what, you’ll keep grinding and grinding while only rarely getting results I wouldn't call it a thought. It wasn't something constantly on my mind. It was a deep-rooted feeling, one that would resurface very, very briefly to nag my conscience, then go back hiding into the sewers on my mind. Without paying attention to it, I wasn't even aware of it in the first place. Tryhards are rarely aware that they're…

Oh, should he follow some well-known red pill protocol in such instances instead? Truth is, you have no clue what he went through, and pouring salt onto this re-opened wound is the very antithesis of community support. Gtfo.

All good mate. We're all still learning, recalibrating, and redefining our lives. We all suck sometimes, and it's part of the game. Show yourself the kind of respect you would show another loved one and keep truckin' on!

I most likely don't share the same journey as you then. Some guys just "get it" quicker than others because there aren't so many entanglements in their belief systems, which helps speed up the internalization process significantly. If that's your case, then lucky you. This post serves to shed clarity behind stuff like "just internalize it bro", "just don't be a pussy bro" or even "throw all that shit out and never think about it again". Under the magical aura behind such advice, there's a whole …

If you have the courage to test out situations despite being vulnerable, you'll have no issue making experience one of your strongest allies. And that's one of the most desirable ways to reach personal empowerment imo, so good for you. It'd be silly to welcome an idea out of blind faith in TRP Happens much more often than they care to admit. I'm guilty of this too, but my next post will elaborate on that.
