I always have my phone on silent with most notifications turned off, and I removed most social media apps a while ago. With the greyscale, I find myself getting distracted by the real world while looking at my phone (whereas before, if I looked up from my phone it would draw me back in with the vibrant colors). From what I know, Catholics are supposed to "fast" on Fridays, which means only one meal with no meat. And there are other stricter fast days as well. They are the mainstream religion in Eastern Europe and in many immigrant communities in North America. There are plenty of very normal people of Greek extraction in North America who are Orthodox, it's hardly a fanatical fringe movement. If I understand it correctly, Fundamentalists would be more like Pentecostal or Evangelical Christians in the US, it implies a literal interpretation of the bible/koran/whatever religious texts.
