Ah! I believe this is about my comment thread! As a gal, and as I stated, egalitarianism is about mindset and feminism is about action towards specific idea within egalitarianism. I get that feminism has “female” within the name. I have no issues with changing the word. I’ll 100% hop on board if that makes a difference for equality! Does that solve the underlying issues that are seen within the movement though? Is it about the words or actions? Genuinely curious what you all think!

That is a good word! Thank you. It seems I hit a touchy subject here. I’m honestly just trying to extend my hand to everyone. It seems that does encompass the idea. I did some research as well. It’s seems that egalitarianism is a social mindset and feminism is more about action. I think it’s possible to be both. I’m going to say I’m both since it’s my mindset and I believe men and women should be held to the same standards. As clarification, men should get equal rights in childcare, presumption …

It does by people who use it correctly. Unfortunately, I agree, the word has been stretched by some. When I say it, it truly means equality. I wish there was a better word.

I definitely agree that there could be a better word. We need a better word that means equality of sexes. Unfortunately, feminism is the only word English has at the moment that means exactly that. Some use it incorrectly. Others bash it because those who use it incorrectly. It also does have “female” as a root. Not sure how to fix that problem. I’m not in charge of words. Sigh...

As a woman, and just seeing this sub for the first time, I find this so important! Feminism really means equality for everyone. I hope we all find the equilibrium. I hope this raises the issue for all!
