I think people suffer from the "that would never happen to me" fallacy. Denial is an extremely powerful human emotion. And then it does happen to them, of course. Most guys walk around with only one tier available. "Goddess, Queen, Wife", etc. "The One". This is the Default factory setting of our culture for better or worse. I prefer my more serious relationships one woman at a time, but when dating or looking for the new GF, I run plates.
