Well if the McDowell (1985) study could be traced then maybe it could be refuted. Forensic Science Digest doesn't even exist and the only thing closest to it, The Forensic Digest has no trace of the study ever being published in it. You can only find McDowell 1985 citied in secondary sources, mostly coming from a book by McDowell in 1987.

It doesn't say that only women can be the victims. Rape is when a man forces his penis into the vagina, anus or mouth of another person without consent Any other penetration (other than a penis) gets classed as, "Assault by penetration", which was added in 2003. Both carry up to life imprisonment.

He had 4 days left on his public apology order, of course he wouldn't get sent to 60 days jail time. I wouldn't send this wife beating tool to jail so then he can act as a martyr for "free speech". Good decision by the judge. Thoughts for Mrs. Byron who is being framed as a villain throughout. She never withheld visitation to her son, Mark spoke pure lies. but I really don't see too many male role models for boys in STEM either. Are you for real? The list is almost endless. Plus, I am not sure where you have seen boys being vilified for liking science, maybe throughout high-school? There you can say girls are also shamed for liking science and not cheerleading. A least on reddit you are vilified for not liking science and there is a total elitist nature to anything not STEM.

Courts don't work that way. He has appealed 3 times and failed every time. Didn't help that his brother signed a confession 3 days before trial 12 years ago. The recantation isn't credible because it was determined she recanted under pressure. That has nothing to do with her testimony in the court. People recant all the time.

Sorry I mis-stated, you're right. He has to prove the expert testimony did influence the sentence. He also has to prove that the recantations are valid. He failed to 3 times so far over 11 years (I think). A 4th appeal was in January this year. The false expert testimony was only used to determine the length of the sentence. He was found guilty before that.

John Arena made 3 confessions. Michael Arena maintains his innocence, hence no parole. The recantation of the girl is not credible and her testimony that John and Michael sexually assaulted her and her brother still stand.
