Currently in a similar situation as you. I read in another post that becoming more emotionally invested than the girl will not be good for you; For your own mental health and your chances. I try to preoccupy myself with other things and never force myself to initiate.

I was in the oneitis phase a few months ago. And I was almost over her and she went ahead and hugged me. Its hard to get over people.

I should clarify. I met her the first time 5 years ago and never saw her again until last fall.

I have been working on it since graduating. I don't have problems interacting with people now. Talking is easy but once that girl broke the physical barrier, it was weird. Its hard to explain and Im sure others had a similar feeling but Im coming late to the game.

Yea I did have a weird childhood. I immigrated to the US with my mom and dad. We knew nobody here and JR high and highschool was very rough for me. I avoided people because of those horrible years. Those events followed me into my undergrad degree so I really didn't talk to people as much in college either. People can be mean :(

Thanks for the answer. Is it upon me to escalate or what?

Had this happen to me and this was my first time getting ANY traction with a girl. She "wants" to reschedule but its been a few days and she has 't brought it up.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
