I’m out of the loop. Please explain.

Status is group specific, so yeah. But in general you need money if you want general recognition.

Regarding number 1: in the same height and I weight a little bit less…yet I’m definitely “in shape”. Gaining too much muscles could make him look like a coffee table. Just my 2cents.

For the sake of completeness, I should point out that ducks are known for raping their partners. So much that females evolved a maze leading to the uterus.

Beat up a dude and pee on him to assert dominance. Congrats, you're now an Alpha!

Is it bad if I too value a lot how a girl makes me feel?

Others have already pointed out your mistakes, so I want to say what you did right: you acted. Seriously, it's deadly important: the more interactions you have the more you'll come to be comfortable in your skin. You're on the right path.

You could have replied telling her something you miss about the time you spent together, maybe the conversation could have gone into a different direction. I'm just speculating, though.

I like the spirit of the video, but I can't get over the fact he's a tall good looking guy.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't focus also on your look, though.

I don't believe those two concepts are antithetical. “Vulnerability” comes from the Latin word “vulnus”, which means “wound”; by being vulnerable you're not hiding your soft spots, exposing yourself to the risk of getting hurt. You're not hiding sides of yourself, but you're not showing them off either! You let those emerge as the situation calls for them. Not an easy concept to grasp, so let me put it into other words. We're used to think about manhood in a certain way, thinking being like that…

I agree on everything, but I still have a question: when you are alone, do you approach girls among their friends (males&females)? If yes…how? I find they're too defensive in that situation.

Don't do that to yourself! Try to keep the right outlook at life instead of stretching any given frame assuming it's your entire life! I assure you your mood is fleeting, but you don't realise that because you're enslaved by the negativity bias. It's hard — really hard — but you have to learn how to focus on what you're doing and screening out superfluous thoughts. No distractions, no bullshit, just you and the current experience; a girl rejects you? Fine! What's next? Don't stop and if you do d…

Once extremely introverted and shy, now I'm more an ambivert, but I'm still at my best in 1 on 1 situations (or small groups in general). How to listen? The key aspect is focus: whenever the mind wanders or wants to comment upon things others are saying, just bring her back on the content. Try to understand how the girl in front of you is feeling about what she's saying and put yourself in her shoes; share her excitement/sadness/anger/whatever and then, if the context requires it, offer your per…

Others already gave you excellent tips, I just want to stress one point: you're clingy because you're scared. Everyone has some degree of insecurity, but for you it's a bit worse because you're young; although it'll get better with time, the sooner you learn how to manage your fears, the better. Whenever you feel the need to write her, pause and observe you thought stream: why do you want to do it? Do you have a real drive/motivation, or you just want reassurance? Never act upon fear/boredom.

Amazing! I'm especially interested in your “improv journey”, since my path tends towards spontaneity. How are structured those classes?

Tried this last weekend. To be fair we already knew each other and were quite intimate, but still it was an interesting experiment. She didn't know the questions were supposed to make two strangers fall in love (I presented them as a little game), but at one point she said: “I've never felt so close with you before”. It's seriously worth trying.

Maybe the best place to ask this kind of question is /r/meditation. Down there there're a lot of people willing to help and you can also find a fairly good FAQ. It's true: there're various kind of meditation practices, but to my knowledge all of them lead to a place of high awareness. Anyway the first step is always a training in concentration, so beginners are usually instructed to keep redirecting their attention on a fixed object (ie the breath). You can start right now, but remember: there'r…

Come to find us in /r/meditation: we're a usually friendly community. I'm too tired right now to write a clever answer to your doubts about yourself, but consider this: you don't need a fixed idea of yourself to be yourself.

“Lame” is just a label, get over it. The more you'll expose yourself, the less sensitive you'll be to judgements and this will build true confidence. Also: life is much better when you stop being defensive all the time; open up!

It could help a lot, but in the long run it ruins every kind of relationship. It's better build real confidence than become a narcissist or a sociopath.

Dude, listen: I'm not browsing this sub because I'm a “fucking expert”, I'm here because I need to learn few things in order to overcome approach anxiety. I feel your pain, really. I'm 24 and I've never even kissed a girl. I'm average looking (someone would say good looking), I can sustain deep conversations (I love them) and hold well trivial ones. My only problem is confidence: high school crushed it and only now I'm starting putting the pieces together. Do you know what helped me to make a hu…

Alcohol unveils what's already within you: if drinking boosts your confidence, you probably should learn how to relax and let go of worries; if it makes you violent, it's better to look within and solve some inner conflicts.

Every time I want to approach a girl, the only thing that ever holds me back is getting rejected super hard. I still have a very hard time dealing with women who are really bitchy: if they brush me off, or don't pay attention to me, my frame gets totally whacked and I feel a deep anger towards whoever that does that. My mind is like, "Hey, I was just trying to make conversation. Don't be such a bitch!" The fact is that she is not interested in you, everything else is just useless mind-chatter. S…

Can anyone relate? It happens to me quite often. Should I accept my feeling Yes. and just stay a bit distanced from others? Nope: it would be like a guy who wants to get in shape, but refuses to workout because he does not like to sweat. You have to learn how to be comfortable with your feelings. It's fine to take a break from social situations when you're just tired, but I bet most of the time what holds you back is a subtle fear. Face it until it disappears or at least until it becomes your lo…

If you need any advice PM me or just ask on any of the Subs. I'll keep it in mind, thanks! It could be useful to have someone to talk about my progress, if I'll really end up being alone in my journey. Remember to not give a fuck about their shitty opinions. Sometimes some fucks will fly around, but I'll try to just don't mind. The attitude is really important: everything changes in the space of a perception.

I love long posts like this and I agree on everything you've said. Subreddits like /r/howtonotgiveafuck and /r/meditation have been exceptionally helpful to me and you can bet I'll stay true to myself. Of course, above all I have to act and be consistent with my efforts, otherwise I'll remain stuck here forever. Thanks a lot for your words, really.
