youre misunderstanding a very simple concept. society says women should want x. women tend towards wanting x because thats what the entire world tells them is right. in an ideal world, women have option for y. y as it exists at that moment is shitty, but the fact that women dont have access to it indicates how the society values women.

they didn't. that was my whole point. culture says women shouldn't want to work, so that seeps into them, and thats what they end up believing. also, you cant just ahistorically transfer attitudes about labor from now to over a 100 years ago. people didnt think the same way about stuff, especially work, that we do now.

thats not a smoking gun. no i dont want to have victorian labor conditions at my job. that doesnt indicate that men are meaningfully oppressed, or even that those men were, on account of their gender.

men were treated like fully realized human beings capable of benefitting society through capitalist labor. while that led to a lot of abuse of laborers, who were naturally going to be male, it's still coming from a place that doesn't acknowledge women as equal to men, and as worthy of doing labor.

top 1% of what? social capital? how would you even measure that? wealth? sorry to burst your bubble but feminism and class analysis aren't exactly at odds with each other. also, its weird i very rarely see these points about how tough men have it transform into their logical conclusions: get rid of landlords, drastically reduce the power of the police and the courts, stop invading other countries for no reason, and have workplaces that care about the wellbeing of their workers.
