I think in principle you could get a lot more from reddit because if the quality of subs and kind of niche interests etc, but in general, the time I spend on Reddit is about as useful/productive/whatever as playing video games. At least with Reddit you might accidentally find something worthwhile, with gaming, don't really see what you can gain? maybe increased social skills and strategic depending on the game?

games are definitely escapism - once you choose life, you lose complete interest. I must admit I find it difficult to have any respect for someone who plays video games. The same is beginning to apply to TV series which run for 7 seasons which have become the norm, I think are similar to video games but no one bashes them; completely pointless, largely un-educational, there isn't even the being involved aspect that you get with gaming, someone of which actually requires high level strategy.
