Generalizing from fiction is silly, but his claims are based on peer-reviewed studies. Unfortunately there aren't many recording of intimate human relationships developing he could have used. Once some principle of interaction has been studied and verified in reality, using an artificial example to illustrate or highlight it does very little to degrade the validity of the claim.

Inner game, fitness, grooming, etc. are obviously fair game. Lots of openers, negging, learning how to give value verbally, body language, and lots of elements of daytime game are fair as well in most social situations. If you're doing it right, the other person should get the sense you're an amiable, social person. If you start seeing indicators of interest, you may be pushing the limits.

I'm assuming you're speaking about hypothetical future children, and not trying to repair/rekindle a relationship with the actual mother of your children. In either case, I'm just a guy on the internet and my advice should be weighed accordingly, but if it's the latter, please actually get some professional help from a relationship counselor. First and foremost you need to disengage emotionally from her and be absolutely sure you're not misreading the signals. Attention seeking behavior is nearly subliminal, and we're all wired to pick up on even the slightest hints, which can then snowball out of control. Keep the idea that you could be misreading her in the front of your mind next time you see her and note if anything feels even slightly different. Second, if and only if you read clearly that she's showing signs of interest, she's …

This is the part of the point of indirect responses. If she stays interested after you've made it clear you're not her new plaything, the interest is likely genuine. A girl just out to have guys supplicate to her isn't going to put in the extra effort to draw you out.

It's not the world that's any different, it's you. The "Change Your Beliefs" mantra is confirmation bias at work. Human neurology has evolved so that usually only things that confirm what we believe rise to the level of conscious awareness after processing, and even when we are presented with contradictory evidence, our mind reflexively reminds us of all the reasons we already believe what we believe. Practicing intentional belief change without being aware of this tendency, even with something …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
