I don't actually see any sites there that have stats, and a lot of them are 404s. I think this link may be more appropriate.

I understand the copyright issue, but that is certainly not what was said. manipulated our images to disseminate such an offensive message That says that the image was changed for the purpose of projecting an offensive message. This is clearly not the case.

“My position is that this demands some kind of a legal response. There are clear intellectual property issues,” Gotell said. “When someone has manipulated our images to disseminate such an offensive message, of course, we should respond to this in a very clear way.” Wow, that bit was ridiculous. So when you do it, it is just fine and dandy, but when the genders are reversed in some way it is to project an offensive message. Cool.

I think this was in an ELI5 post a week or so ago, and the best explanation was simply politics. If someone were to suggest taking down the sex offender registry, their opponent would twist it around saying that they were protecting the children of the community and their opponent would allow the children to be unsafe and unaware of the potential dangers in their neighborhood. I am not sure as to why murderers do not have a list though.

I am glad I wasn't the only one that was rubbed the wrong way about that article. I hate the term patriarchy and it was thrown around everywhere in the article and the comments. Privilege and patriarchy are two terms that just irk me to no end

Maybe I am tripping but it looks to me like it only has 100 upvotes? I am not disagreeing or anything I jus don't see anything there with 500 upvotes.

thank you for answering my question, instead of just downvoting; I was genuinely curious.

I thought that originally female pronouns were the standard, though? Is that incorrect?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
