I mean it basically only exists at this point in the event that we get involved in a nigh existential conflict. I wouldn't want to eliminate it entirely, just in case we someday get to that point again. We wouldn't exactly have a very safe, prosperous, or long existence as a country if we suddenly had the dire need for a draft but had made it illegal in the past. To be honest, even guys branch-swing sometimes. After me and an ex broke up about two years ago, part of the impetus for me was that I had recently connected with a girl I was much more interested in seeing. I only ended up seeing the new girl for a couple of months before I moved cities, but it was still branch-swinging.
