3	Freshman dropping out of college I don't know what part of the country you're in, but down here on the gulf coast, welders make crazy good money. I have several friends from high school that skipped college altogether and went straight into welding careers. A lot of them make as much or more money than I do (with an advanced degree), didn't miss out on four or more years of collecting a salary, and had zero student loan debt.
