After impregnating and then marrying an extremely narcissistic, dishonest and abusive woman, and then having to deal with her as the mother of my son for the next 18 years (we divorced when he was 2), my spidey sense is ultra sensitive and I just plain DON'T DO CRAZY anymore. I just cut a woman off because 2 days after meeting on Tinder she was blowing up my phone and drunk dialled me last night to see if I would come over, because she just "called in sick for the next 3 days"(?) This before we …

Watch the balls though. Don't sit on them too quickly or forcefully. Could ruin the mood pretty quick.

I will. i like it because you break the ice with so many people, you set the tone for the night. I've had nights similar to this where it felt like I was buds with half the bar by the end of the night and it always led to meeting plenty of females. I really dig the "storm the beach" mindset, I'm going to apply it soon.

Hmmm chocolates huh? Old fashioned but worth a try. Thanks for all the advice and support. If anything progresses with this lady I will write back. And I do know that what I seek with her I may find with another- I'm staying open to that. Best of luck in all you do and thanks again.

By the way which romcom did you lift this technique from?

Thanks but I guess I should have mentioned that I'm 47 and have already been married once and have a son who is now 17. I'm not in a rush to get married again ever, and more kids are definitely not on the radar. I'm also very happy being single and have other dates anyway, so all of my hopes aren't pinned on this woman. I will take the long approach and see how that works- good things come to those who wait. But I have given your advice some thought so thank you.

Yeah you're right in a way, but I didn't mention that in that 11 years I dated a few different women and had relationships, and I'm even dating a bit now. So it's not "all about her", it's just that she's the only one I've consistently wanted all this time. I realize we very likely won't be together but I can't help but hope. However letting go is probably my best move.

Thanks for the advice. I will maybe check out 1 or 2 romcoms (ew) but I'm going to hold back on the big feeling reveal for probably quite a while. I would much rather at least have her friendship than to scare her away again and not have her in my life at all. I've also had to reflect recently and admit that I don't actually know her all that well, and have decided that I'm ok with taking the time to get to know her and cultivate a true friendship. They say love is patient and I'm willing to giv…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
