Very nice addition to the discussion. I’ve found, as it seems you have as well, that stoicism is very much in line with Buddhism. To put it dumb simple, the primary focus in both is finding harmony with internal forces (your psyche), and the external world will do as it wishes, which is non of your concern anyway. I feel that depth psychology, primarily Jung, when coupled with these practices, allows individuals to truly traverse deep within their psyche and become what they are meant to be. If …

Agreed. Man and His Symbols is likely the best jump off point if you’re going to read Jungs work directly

Red pill, at it’s best, is like a rough, basic entry level, mildly coherent re-translation of stoic principles and depth psychology. Read meditations by Marcus Aurelius, read up on Jung and the process of individuation. This is the way Red pill is an ok starting point for gaining a sense of responsibility, dutifulness, claiming your inner power, etc. but there’s also just as much fucked up nonsense. Red pill is the counter culture to feminism, whether these guys know it or not. It’s a group foun…

All good responses gentlemen, I’m now confident in my competence to swiftly handle this situation, and though it is not an ideal scenario, it is no longer a tense thought. Cheers

Such a reasonable proposal, yet none here including myself had thought of it. Nice

Right. She could hit me with whatever she can grab, throw her drink on me, etc. and at worst she’ll get asked to leave. But if she’s clubbing at me then I swing or push her to protect myself I’m going to receive at least as much punishment. Probly a lot more if I actually injure the bitch
/r/askTRP05/12/19 07:36 AM

That’s how I feel, like “you can swing at me, but I’m putting your ass on the ground if you do”. But I’d be the one with a criminal record afterwords

I feel like this is my best option — don’t engage, laugh at her dumbass, then if she gets violent have her tossed out or leave myself

Did. But what if this were to happen at my favorite bar where I don’t want to leave?

This bitch was aggressive enough to grab me and hit me with something though. She was literally threatening to assault me. I left, but I’m wanting an option other than just leaving if this were to happen at my frequent spot
/r/askTRP05/12/19 05:11 AM

The bitch followed me around man. I eventually just left. Thing is I was willing to leave that dump of a bar, but as I told another poster, no way in hell am I just leaving if it happens at my frequent spot
/r/askTRP05/12/19 05:09 AM
2

Did that. The bar I saw her at was a trashy dive bar I’d only been to a couple times and don’t intend going back. However, if I encounter this at my frequent spot, no way in fuck I’m just going to leave

Makes sense. I can see how not messaging at all would have been best in this situation, but if that was a poor choice of text then what would have been acceptable-good?

Ever read “how to” or “DIY” articles then seek to discuss that specific concept with others who have experience in the area to make sure your conceptual reference is all that more solid?

Well, I edited my post when I realized just how new to lifting you were (was hoping the edit was submitted prior to you checking it out).... Just eat at maintenance levels while your body goes through recomposition, should be a nice 2-3months of noob gains. Up your protein intake (1g per pound body weight is fairly standard), and YouTube proper lifting form so you don’t hurt yourself. Good luck man

First off, you want to be focusing on compound exercises (multi-joint: bench press, squats, etc.) Second, save fasting and those other methods for when you’re more advanced, if you ever need those techniques at all....Count your calories. It doesn’t matter if you eat only the healthiest foods when you’re still eating calories far in excess of maintenance. My closing advice, eat calories at maintenance levels while focusing on compound lifts....since you’re beginner level your body will go throug…
