There's a variety of routes you can use to temporarily or permanently increase your narcissistic traits, or become more self interested: Cocaine can induce narcissism in the short term. However, the things you learn and do in your drug induced state affect you in your sober state as well. If you go out a few times on cocaine, bang a bunch of sluts and are the star of the evening, it'll permanently give you positive interesting experiences. As you accumulate interesting experiences, it's easier t…

Maybe the contrast between clothing and attitude also plays a role. Most guys that wear sweatpants casually aren't high earners, so there's a subconscious link between mediocrity and wearing sweatpants. If you are good looking, have good body language, and are accustomed to wearing suits, I can imagine you might wear sweatpants like you might wear a 1000 dollar suit. This contrast between what's expected (sweatpants --> mediocre guy) and how you shatter these expectations could be part of the re…

Indeed. The difference between appearing stoic and appearing autistic is the ability to use the right emotions at the right times. What part of the world do you live in, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for your detailed response. I was skeptical about your statements regarding coke at first, but after having experienced coke firsthand, I know your hypothesis of coke inducing dark triad traits to be true. I'm greatly looking forward to your article about cocaine, I'm wondering how much being coked up will affect your usual writing style. When you're coked up it's weird, women seem to just fucking want to jump on it. I can't really even explain it, you don't even have to do anything, wome…

I know dark triad traits are usually genetic or develop due to childhood trauma. Is it possible for a dark triad transformation to get triggered in adolescence or adulthood via either traumatic events, drug use (i.e. cocaine and amphetamines), or world-shattering insights (e.g. discovering the Gervais principle)? So essentially, is it possible that some individuals have dormant dark triad traits that only develop once triggered sufficiently? It would seem plausible if you look at the dark triad …

You're evil! I just visualized a sap practicing it to perfection in front of the mirror all day and then going up to his wife, trying to pull it off but losing courage midway through and totally botching it: "G-give me a b-b-blowjob!!!!......... p-p-please? The imagery is painful yet hilarious.

Some people say the opposite: if you do drugs to achieve a certain mindset, then you'll never learn to do it on your own.

Very interesting story. I wish I knew a guy like this, I think you can really benefit from emulating the I-don't-give-a-fuck vibe guys like him give off. Only guy I knew that came close was a guy that did boxing and fucked a prostitute when he was 15, because of a bet. He didn't take shit from anybody either. He went to do an accounting study at a prestigious university despite having a bunch of dark triad traits, or maybe because he used his dark triad traits in a constructive way.

Nice field report, you have a very pleasant writing style, and it's nicely organized. I normally only skim through field reports but this one managed to pull me in, in spite of its length. The analysis after is great too, very nice idea. I also like your opening line. It can be corny, but that depends mostly on circumstances and the vibe you give off, as with all pickup lines.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
