As I finally learned with mine doing similar, they think this is control. I also figured out and told my lawyer, if this is how she treats and "respects" the legal system, then what did Iive through. The same "control" they used on me. It seems there are a lot of women with "divorce remorse" that believe the system owes them, and it appears the system has gotten better and recognizing the game. Hope it works out for you soon.

I was in counseling for myself at the same time. My counselor told me I had two choices, one, get out immediately and lose my kids, two, stick it out and focus on my kids. I chose #2. Eventually, 26 years, kids through school, full time jobs... she threatened one more time, I stood up to her and she started behaving strange, planning in secret. I pulled the trigger before she could, two years later she's still fighting, became "religous" (that backfired), kids still see me, one of them cut all t…

Others already confirming... the power until accountability. Spent a whole session being told she needs space, affirmation, support with tge kids, time to figure herself out, etc. So, we got day care, she started taking classes part time... no income other than mine. In the next meeting the counselor told her if she expected to get what she needed from me, she needed to commit to changing her hurtful behavior and never threaten divorce or leaving with the kids. Made it to the car after and was i…

Unfortunately there is truth in the old adage "why do divorces cost so much... because it's worth it."

Nope! Glad I got a lawyer. 30+ years, weekly threatsof divorxe, kids grown, supposed to be easy split of assets. She and her lawyer said she wanted amicable and good faith mediation. 10.5 hrs of mediation, with held retirement statements, refused to meet deadlines for property access, vehicles... from signed, initiated, dated decree. 2 years later still at it... she's tried to rewrite the mediated agreements she demanded... 10.5 hrs of "mediation"... she rewrote the equalization payment amounts …

Listen to "smooth", better yet, I need to listen to "smooth". We don't owe our ex anything, they took, they made choices, let them live it! I hope you stay safe, grow for yourself, be the dad you were and your kids know. You don't need to be anything for her ever again, especially supportive of her guilt. As I keep telling my kids, everyone makes choices, your mother made hers, and once again... it's never her fault... irony.

Nearest exit... escape. She says it shouldn't be awkward... she knows it is. She is still trying to punish you, show off your "replacement", let you see how much better she is now. You are still making yourself small to avoid another punishment so she can convince herself she "never hurt you", she just needs to show you how someone else makes her happy and feel better about herself... more punishment to relieve her guilt. She wants you to say how great she looks, how happy you are she's ok... ki…

A question I continue to ask. How is it women can behave as professionals; Doctors, Lawyers, Judges, Teachers, Bank Managers, CEOs, Vice President of a country, President or Prime Minister of a country with ... PMS and or Menopause? Do they yell and scream and threaten... students, patients, clients...? Or do they just get a pass at home because... hormones? There is a study out there, 2013... ?believe the science????? Dr. Henderson... look up Menopause and personal behavior. While hormones, pms…

Depends on the state, some states require turning over pay subs for the last year, retirement statements, etc. Or, maybe I got lucky and hired the right attorney. You can always ask your lawyer to file for "discovey" citing possible financial abuse, i.e., my stbx's lawyer found they hadn't disclosed a savings account... my lawyer ended up canceling hearings and mediation until they disclosed everything.

It's called "manufactured incompetence," the longer you are away from the situation, the more you will recognize it was always there. Helped my "still won't sign off" even though it's been ordered decree get medical field degree, kept paying for licensing... people's lives in their hands... but now doesn't understand math and legal documents. It's really hard and dehumanizing to have helped and supported someone who touted themselves as an expert and the top of their class only to use that intel…
