I think most feminism is actually built on a foundation of the idea of the heroic female. There is some misandrist feminism, yes, but not a lot in my experience. And I talk to a lot of feminists. Mostly, feminists don't hate men: they just aren't interested in men's problems. Which is why I am interested in the men's moviment. Unfortunately, this sub spends 90% of its time complaining about women. Very rarely do you see someone here talking about men's issues.

You talk to a lot of feminists, do you?
/r/MensRights19/07/23 08:37 AM

It means quite alot, actually. If you think TERFs and puta politics feminists have the same beliefs about men, you'll be having a nasty surprise some day.

You don't know much about the prison system, I take it.

I never asked about how many women got killed, did I? Seems like you're taking my question in bad faith.

I notice you say "front lines". You realize that most of an army these days is not a frontline gig? Also, I notice that you forgot this part: "According to official data, as of the beginning of May 2023, 42,000 women serve in Ukrainian military formations, which is a significant percentage of the total number of military personnel."

Read books in your search. Books that have at least been peer-reviewed. Youtube and whatnot is too full of free range grifters.

Isn't some 30% of the Ukranian military women?

Well, it certainly WAS real. Just read history. And it definitely influences us today.

Again, where does it say god wrote the bible? Real simple question here.

Mommy issues, actually.

So we're basically talking about women being bitchy because they feel snubbed? Not surprised, tbh.

Verbal coercion? No doubt. What does the study have to say about physical coercion?
/r/MensRights13/07/23 01:53 PM

What exactly have I said that's contrary to men's rights?
/r/MensRights13/07/23 01:51 PM

The first thing they'd definitely say, because in my experience, those guys never missed a beat when it came to blaming victims. They most certainly never would have asked the second question. Blaming the victim would have solved the issue for them. The fact that you don't understsnd this, young man, is the result of old farts like me having made the world marginally better over the past 40 years. This is why you haven't been fag-bashed despite your tendency to whine.

Your only example, so far, as to why men need same sex spaces was the opening up of The Citadel to women. Any time you want to stop bouncing about and give a serious answer to that question, I'm all ears. Why do men need same sex spaces?

TERFs fucking suck.

I don't think anyone infiltrated it. Most feminists I know have always been athiests for the obvious reason that most religions are blatantly patriarchical.

Thanks. Blueberry, in particular, seems to be stalking me. Unfortunately, my experience with most men here is showing me that they aren't particularly concerned with men's issues. Take, for example, women's participstion in war. I don't get how one can simultaneously complain that men have been victimized by military service AND complain that military academies (apparently safe spaces for men?) are now letting women in. Good, I say. Women should be a part of any national draft. Maybe they won't …

First of all, no you can't. Assault is a crime in most cultures. Secondly, I liked Fight Club, too, but it's a parody and a fantasy, not a blueprint for men's safe spaces.

First of all, I am 56 and I can tell you boys being violent to girls isn't a new thing. In fact, those older mentors you are talking about? Everything I have seen and read indicates that most of them, bac in the day, would have asked "What did she do to deserve that?" When I was a weeblo scout in the mid 70s, our scout masters taught us a version of "Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer" that had Rudolf killing Santa's wife. So color me skeptical when it comes to the mentorship of older men preventing v…

I'm sorry, but that sounds very much like a "you" issue. Most men seem to get along with women just fine. Men's rights (at least, so I have been told repeatedly and so I believe) is serious shit and not a more adult variant of " ew, girls have cooties".
/r/MensRights12/07/23 12:30 PM

Friend, what I am going to say to you is going to blow your mind, but believe me, it's true: until very recently, most women weren't what you'd call housewives. First of all, women have always worked. Secondly, most peasant and hunter-gatherer women (i.e. most women in history) contributed as many if not more calories to their families' survival as men. You sound as if you think history began in 1950, in the U.S., and it was like "Father Knows Best".
/r/MensRights12/07/23 12:27 PM

Wow. Well that's me told then. Can't argue with logic like that!

Let' just say "authoritarian nationalist corporativists" then. That any better? Also, you haven't seen any Nazis since 1945? You sound pretty chipper for someone who's pushing 80 at the very least.

Nice to see this page's all-inclusive attitude to the discussion of men's rights rearing it's head again. "Feminazis" have never been more than an irritant to me and mine. Real Nazis (or authoritarian corporativist nationalist, if you want to get picky) murdered a friend of mine.
/r/MensRights12/07/23 12:18 PM

You called me a "retard" iirc, and a nazi. And I have asked you WHY we need them. You have yet to respond. "Because [a very few] women have them" doesn't answer my question.
/r/MensRights12/07/23 12:15 PM

I said "Right. I am a nazi because I disagree with you." One of the things that's happening to me is that I am being intencionally monstered by a guy who seems to see himself as a gatekeeper for men's rights. So, again, given your behavior here, who do you imagine sharing that safe space with you? Certainly not all men. It seems to me you want to a club, and a rather exclusive one at that. Just for starters, I doubt that gay or trans men would feel very safe in your space. Nor would any man who,…

No, you accused me of being a feminazi. I said "I am a feminist and nazi because I disagree with you, apparently." That's not me admitting that I am a nazi? Sunny Jim. Y'know, for a man who supposedly hates feminists, you certainly copy a lot of the bullshit monstering tactics they use.

I don't care about your vague feelings: I do care about your SPECIFIC feelings about why you need a female free space and what you think it will do. I am not interested in general feelings of agrievement, no. And note rhe name of this group: it is not "Angry men upset about women". I presume it is what it says on the tin, yeah? That's why I am here. So how and why are male only spaces going benefit you? You certainly don't seem to need slf-esteem building, given that you think everyone who disag…

What answer? Why do you feel the need for a men only space? All you brought up was the example of the Citadel which, I am sure most MRAs would agree, is not a safe space for men.

Here's an excellent example of what I am talking about when I say "In my experience, men typically bond through bullying". I admitted nothing of the sort. You haven't a clue as to who I am or what I believe. Yet you've now spent two days spewing lies about and abuse towards me. Why? What have I said that's wrong? I have asked a question, which you have dodged.
/r/MensRights11/07/23 07:42 PM
1

No, you presumed my gender. I am not clear why a men's space is going to make men feel included. That has not been my experience in men's spaces at all. My experience is that men typically bond through choosing a common target for their aggression. "Fagball" is what one queer studies scholar calls it. As for hating my own gender... lol, wut?
/r/MensRights11/07/23 07:40 PM

I'm not in the business of telling anyone whether something is just or not, to begin with. Nor am I a woman, so I have nothing to say about the need for female only safe spaces. I am a man, however, and given my past experiences, I don't feel safe surrounded by men. I am thus curious why you feel differently, apparently.
/r/MensRights11/07/23 07:37 PM

Uhm... for most of human history, women brought in as many if not more calories than men. Sorry, but them's the facts. There are many reasons to be skeptical of the cry that men are obsolete, "but we have fed freeloading women for tthousands of years ain't one of them.

I am soooooo down for this. It will free both men and women. If I had the proverbial three wishes, this would be one of them. Are we any closer on the tech, however?

Where does it say this in the Bible, exactly?
/r/MensRights11/07/23 07:20 PM

Because I am man and there are serious issues men face. Not having female free safe spaces ain't one of them in my book, but I am willing to hear other men out on this one. So far, however, all you have done is heaped abuse on me.
/r/MensRights11/07/23 07:19 PM
1

It doesn't answer my question though, does it? Let me ask it again: what kind of safe space do men need and why? Surely you're not sugesting the Citadel was a safe space? One of the tennets of the MRM is that it is sexist that military careers are massively masculine.
/r/MensRights11/07/23 07:17 PM

Could the fact that women who do these jobs face massive harassment have something to do with this? Talking here as someone who has interviewed a lot of women in typically "male" jobs. Personally, I think we, as a society, should make policing a female job. Something tells me, however, that the moment 51% of cops are women, you'd flip like an old vinyl record and start saying that was proof of the oppression of men. Am I wrong?

Y'know, I don't think you've ever actually listened to McClellan on the topic of gender in the Bible. We are talking about the mormon convert, Dr. Dan McClellan who went to some great length on his most popular youtube video talking about how God's wife got editted out of the Bible? The Dan McClellan who happily admits that there are two contradictory Genesis stories, one which preaches gender equality and the other female submission? Because from what I have heard from the man, that Dr. Dan McC…

/r/MensRights10/07/23 01:51 AM

Sorry, but that is not what it says. Dude, are you really that bad at reading comprehension or do you think other men are too stupid to look at the wiki article you are citing? You are two for two now in misreading it.

Feminism certainly helps men more than hurts them, in my experience. Queer theory is even more helpful. But pointing that out isn't the same thing as necessarily giving a fuck about men's issues. Why do you want to be heard in feminism, anyhow?

So, hearsay, then?
/r/MensRights07/07/23 10:06 PM

Literally the first paragraph of wikipedia's definition of misandry: "Misandry (/mɪˈsændri/) is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against men.[1][2] Men's rights activists and other masculinist groups have criticized modern laws concerning divorce, domestic violence, conscription, circumcision (known as male genital mutilation by opponents), and treatment of male rape victims as examples of institutional misandry." Looks pretty spot on to me.

Why should they care? No, seriously.
/r/MensRights07/07/23 09:34 PM

1

Oh, I see. What Bakke established in 1973 is that idenities CAN be used as positive factor in college admissions but not an overweening factor. Quotas were expressly prohibited. What universities could do, however, was use these identity categories as "tie breakers" to recruit students from excluded groups. So, for example, given two A grade candidates in engineering, one male and one female, the university could say " We choose the woman because we need more women." And note: the law covers ide…

/r/MensRights22/03/23 03:08 PM

Those cases have nothing to do with quotas. They are attempts to overthrow the tie-breaker norm established by Bakke or attacks on programs that favor students from historically excluded categories ( which Bakke established can't be quotas 50 years ago). Try again.
/r/MensRights22/03/23 03:07 PM
1

I think we have a basic problem of communication here. Bakke banned QUOTAS in university affirmative action in 1973. It did not ban affirmative action. What it established was the so called tie-breaker for affirmative action, wherein identities can be a FACTOR in recruitment or retention but not an OVEEWEENING FACTOR. Quotas reserved for minorities were thus prohibited. You, however, seem to be so wedded to the notion that affirmative action = quotas that you can't even process what the 1973 Bak…

Read a bit more about that case instead of the headlines, son. How about you give us a source on that? Affirmative action in universities has been prohibited from using quotas since 1973. Uhm... "their biological clocks are constantly on their minds"? How do you know that?

Where did you get that role, except from pulling it out of your ass? I mean, seriously: show me three significant women who say this. Anywhere. Also, isn't the main gripe of incels the fact that women don't "accept us as we are"?

Citation needed...? I get the impression that you just heard this shit somewhere and are repeating it. For me, I would go out with older women because I want to date someone who's consolidated themselves in life. Most women I know who date older men want the same thing.

Funny. Almost all of my girlfriends approached ME. Maybe you just aren't picking up on their approach? Also, think of the double bind they are in, too. It's no easier than it is for us.

Most of the women I know didn't marry some guy "in the prime of their careers". Those who did married in the prime of their own careers. If you don't want to be an incel, maybe you should work on improving your empathy and emotional intelligence and then go meet some women? The fact that mommy and daddy gave you no love because you were a boy and, consequently, you have not yet learned to care about others is no woman's responsability except perhaps your mom's.

And they seem much happier doing that than you seem to be. Also, newsflash: women have ALWAYS been doing that to one degree or another. So why is this a problem and what does this have to do with changing names?

No doubt. Which, again, is the kind of woman you -- a non-Vietnamese speaking foreigner -- are going to meet in Vietnam who are "not infected by second wave feminism". Got the point now?

There's a really high chance that they are not even thinking about you at all.

Most single older women I know are doing just fine. They can get sex when they want and have healthy social networks of friends and family to give them love. Single older men on the other hand....

Because it is pretty much true: no one does.

You speak Vietnamese, do you? Hang out among many educated women in Ho Chi Minh City? Second wave feminism isn't big among bar girls pretty much anywhere. Not big much in U.S. housing projects and trailer parks either, I reckon.

So this 6ft thing is kind of a red herring. Got it. As for women expecting expensive dates and presents, that's not my experience and, gosh, when I look around, there sure seem to be alot of poor guys getting laid. And you're going to complain that being expected to take out the garbage is some sort of form of gender opression? Really?

Name one of these countries.

Wow. So you think that's who the majority of women are dating? Really...?

Here's one that was unrealistic decades ago and is unrealistic now: a woman should dedicate her entire self to you and her family. She should be a moon that orbits your gravitational center. Here's another that has been expressed in the conversation here: women have some sort of natural, eternal role they should play.

What are these masculine roles and feminine roles everyone should be upholding, exactly? I was born into a female- headed household in the 1960s. Not quite sure what these supposed roles are that people have supposedly given up. As for height standards, dude, seriously? I am 5'8" and never had a problem. I look around me and it seems that the vast majority of guys with women on their arms are well under 6ft. So why don't we talk about this unrealistic expectation of yours, first?

How do you figure?

I was alive several decades ago. Were you? Because I can guarantee you, expecting a woman will fall out of the ceiling and into your lap and love you simply for who you are was a bad strategy 50 years ago, too.

So this has affected the OP, how?
/r/MensRights01/03/23 03:12 PM

Or not, as the case may be. Personally? I am not a misogynist: a guy who thinks all women suck. I just don't think women elsewhere are that much different in ways that would make any difference to the things men bring up here.

Excuse me, but I am not following this. Perhaps a concrete example would help?

Where in South America?

I am not even sure that is the case.

"I have no social life. I don't leave my house. I can't understand why women here are so horrible." Friend, let me give you some free advice: women are not "better" anywhere else.

How is feminism responsible for men not being able to function?
/r/MensRights28/02/23 10:22 PM
-5

Because men are taught unrealistic expectations about women.
