I would say that the spitting is a far more dangerous action. Basically it is a biological attack on the other person. She could have Hepatitis or any number of diseases...he has no idea and now has to wonder for a few weeks or months until he can be confident that he isn't infected. That means possibly avoiding contact with a spouse or loved ones for that time period not to mention the terror of possibly being infected with something.

At first thought this seems like a possible blackmail scenario...interesting he wasn't charged with that though. I can see a multitude of scenarios where he had something on her and threatened her into doing something she didn't want to do...this is rape regardless of age or sex. I hope I'm not being an apologist, however I can't believe that the police would reverse a statutory rape scenario without very odd circumstances.

So, that seems reasonable but what compels me to obey a lawful order? ie. I'm not a dancing monkey that the cops can order to do whatever they want. I hear the term thrown around a lot but who decides what a "lawful command" is? What exactly is the definition a "lawful command"? It very likely is as it would be hugely irresponsible to give an untrained person a real firearm loaded or not and tell them to point it at someone's head. I think the "outrage" here is with the ad in it't entirety. Not sure if conscription in this case is comparable to what they are requiring young men 18+ to do in the US today. I think they are pretty serious about it here. Unless you are a mail carrier, or up north in an area where Bears are a threat you better not have it in your possession. I think the letter carriers have to wear it in a visible holster, and the can for bear protection is too big to carry concealed. Our cops are pretty serious about it.

I don't think a men's oral contraception would use hormones similar to women's contraceptives, since women's contraceptives don't prevent egg production, they prevent the fertilized egg from implanting (at least in my understanding). I think that men's oral contraception would be based on making the sperm nonviable or not produced...that would be dramatically different to solutions available for women. I don't think we can jump to a negative side affect until we know what the proposal would be.

Birth Control (oral) gives the woman the (invisible/personal) right to choose whether or not she has a baby. Condoms give men the (visible/negotiated) right to choose whether or not he wants to have a baby. Draw your own conclusions from that. It will be a very good day for men when we finally get an oral contraceptive. Finally we will be in control of our own reproduction and we won't have to negotiate with anyone to do so.
