-Always have a goal in mind, whether it’s a short term day to day goal, or a long term life goal. ALWAYS have it on your mind and keep working on it. The confidence will show up automatically. -Identify binge habits quickly and get rid of them. They suck your blood, brain and everything else! Alcohol, weed, masturbation etc. -Be Decisive. Right from what you want for lunch to bigger life decisions. Gather enough information and make a rational decision QUICK! It’s mostly about taking a decision …

This post sounds like some wishful, imaginative dystopian movie where you play the hero and save the world. Haha!

That nature of women is the survival mechanism of the human race. Imagine women actually slept with anyone out of empathy, kindness etc., There would then be no incentive to succeed among the men. This would lead to a bunch of lazy men who have no will to improve. Isn’t this also the reason we say don’t watch too much porn and masturbate all the time? It is because our brain thinks it already won the reward and loses the drive and motivation. You must actually begin to look at the world through …

This was me for 30+ years. It began to change a few years ago when my wife wanted a divorce. I grew up in an extremely controlling home, which resulted in a default shame in everything I did. I wouldn’t open up to anybody. I would hide things from everyone all the time. It also resulted in me developing addictions. There comes a time in life where you’re forced to break out of that shell and be who you are. And then there’s a phase of guilt that you go through because you no longer care what oth…

The point is that we subconsciously build these walls around our minds and box ourselves into a limited life. Those invisible walls could be a conditioned social rule, or a “principle” that you tell yourself that you live by. The key is to realize that those walls are invisible and they actually don’t have to exist, and that they’re limiting you in what you could do.

I fully agree. I find myself going on binge drinking days and harder to stop when I live alone. That being said, I also crave time to be alone. Small doses of social mingling are more than enough to rejuvenate me. I used to think if myself as someone who functions best when alone all the time. Turns out I was wrong.

This hit me hard. It was on point and aligned with my past experiences. You need periodic reality checks.

Very well written. I have also been thinking about the purposeless-ness epidemic recently and how so many people around are depressed because they don’t know what to do, or have too many options to do. This is a classic first world epidemic. I however think that having a transcendental purpose is too far-fetched for most of the population because many of them don’t even have tangible goals that they are going for, which honestly included me until recently. I distinctly remember by ex-wife 2 year…

That is your new baseline. You are just not used to it. Meditate regularly and you will get used to your new energy levels.

It is true. The more I come out of my older style of thinking, the more I realize how much of a deceptive life I lived (still living). I am slowly losing a sense of right and wrong, or good and bad.

I’ve realized this too late in my relationship. When she had stupid problems from work, I used to treat her brain like a man’s brain and try to explain to her certain things and why they’re not an issue at all, or why she shouldn’t be complaining etc. Now many months later, I realize I should have just listened to her for a short while and then fixed how she “felt” at that moment, and not the problem itself.

Great Post. I believe the stages your mention are not hard lines. I find myself somewhere between 1,2 and 3. Also, I don't think phases 1 and 2 are a waste (considering the lack of action). It is part of the metamorphosis where your brain and thinking patterns are adjusting to the new found knowledge. You must however push to keep taking action.

friendandadvisor Not engaging in an argument and remaining calm and stoic will show your strength. Truly speaking, you will remain calm and stoic not because it is going to achieve a certain result (getting respect or showing strength). You will remain so because that is what you are: a man that doesn't engage in meaning-less arguments. Now again, why would you want to drive them insane? May be it is the choice of the word "insane", but wanting to driving them insane hints at a certain minds…

Ignoring them is the healthy solution, and it will drive them insane quicker than arguing with them. Why would you want to drive them insane?

Thank you for writing this. I’ve been in this false illusion for a very long time, that if people were praising me and appreciating me all the time, then I was doing the right things. Now I have realized that it’s the exact opposite most of the times.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
