Dude it only gets worse the more you look into it. I can’t encourage you enough to watch that Netflix documentary, and then a YouTube show called Sex and Circumcision: An American Love Story. It’s a filmed Harvard presentation by a man named Eric Clopper. You have to be signed in to see his account ‘s version, but man did it open my eyes.

Not always, but yes, induced erection is not an uncommon first step. You can find it in many “circumcision tutorial” videos on YouTube. The ones that haven’t been taken down anyway. American Circumcision on Netflix is another good resource to learn more.

You may be able to argue that and still call it sexual assault. I’ve heard rumors of assistants (nurses, etc.) saying that the doctors will sometimes nurse erections during the circumcision. Circumcision psychology is so profoundly fucked.

It’s a particular Orthodox Jewish ritual called metzitzah b’peh, but in that situation, yes, and it was deemed “anti-Semitic” to require a special consent form informing parents of the risk of herpes transmission during said ritual.

Circumcision is literally ENTIRELY unregulated in the US. It’s illegal to force a mohel to give parents a warning that he’s going to suck the baby’s penis, and that herpes is a potential result.

Do not let her mutilate your son. It sounds like you're resolved, which is good to hear. Ask her what she plans to tell him to do when he doesn't like that he's missing the erogenous parts of his penis. Show her American Circumcision on Netflix if you haven't already. It is not her body, it's not her penis, and she has no right to decide which parts of it your son gets to keep. Make that abundantly clear.

A developed, competent 20 year old man with a bright future killed himself after realizing the depth of the loss caused by circumcision. We do this to infants by the thousands daily, and people laugh about it. The average person is so blinded by their own culture, and yet they criticize people of other cultures for being "sheep." The irony is lost on these people. They are bodies without consciousness.

It's interesting, I'm typically the same way. I'd always thought that I'd see circumcision jokes as "funny" if it wasn't *actually* happening right under our noses, but I think this guy actually did a good job. I think that bit was probably really eye-opening for a lot of people, and I actually got a chuckle out of it

The circumcised penis is a shell of the natural penis, and has next to none of its original "recreational pleasure" potential—it's a brute. There was a time in, I believe 2009, when the American Academy of Pediatrics suggested that a ritual nicking of the clitoral hood, no excision of tissue, should be permitted for cultural reasons, because such a thing would be infinitely less invasive than male circumcision, and the public reaction was so fierce that the AAP was forced to retract their statement within the month.

They most certainly do, but if we wanna get technical, there's nothing "removable" about ANY genitals at all. The foreskin is attached to the head of the penis at birth using a similar mechanism that your fingernails use to connect to your nail bed. They have to rip the penis to shreds during circumcision to remove it. They physical implications are that babies are mutilated and damaged physically and psychosexually for life, and that's too valuable to stop apparently., The social implication is if we actually protect babies, then it wouldn't be socially acceptable to brag about only liking mutilated and barely functional penises.
