Yeah, I don't think attempting to shame you for defining your own personal needs is very FDS-friendly, but I'm being downvoted and being called "wrong" for having that opinion.

So, I don't care for this debunking of the rhetorical trap because it's misleading as hell. So there.

I don't think it's sad at all. And why get married? You can be in a committed relationship without having to be married. Trust me, I was married and I gained nothing from the experience other than the knowledge that it sucks, especially for women.

I can relate. They'll gush over how great you were and then...I have to hold back the urge to slap them in the face and scream, "then why did you treat me like shit?" My last ex seriously thanked me for his new ability to hug his grandma and tell her he loves her.

These all existed before 20 years ago. Not a single one was invented recently, why are you trying to make that an angle? Scrotes have been using every single one of these tactics since forever.

How did this become a thing that women do for men? What the hell happened? I don't remember seeing a single meme about a woman giving up a kidney to get her man a gaming console when the ps4 came out, or any other console. I really don't understand how these scrotes got so fucking entitled. Buy your own shit. Edit: thank you, kind stranger!

LexisNexis is what I used as an apartment building manager to vet applicants. I'm not sure how expensive it is for an individual to use though. It was considered the standard private sector background check service at the time (2010). It's always worth checking all local law enforcement agencies and court system records that are available online if you're on a budget.

THIS. Listen to what your body is telling you, there's wisdom there. I lost all sexual attraction to my (now ex) husband once I realized how lazy and selfish he was. When I divorced him, he tried to ask for spousal support money, but the judge struck that down. And because he was too lazy to even read the final divorce decree, he came looking for that money later. It felt so damn good to say, "oh honey, you need to read that divorce paperwork again, because the judge didn't think it was fair for…

Totally agree with your perspective. My mom was also crazy busy and my dad was left to cook for us a lot. But he didn't seem to know how to do much other than boil water and scramble eggs, even though I know his fully Italian mother knew how to cook and kept recipe cards.

I wouldn't drop her like people here are saying. She does need to start seeing a therapist and I think you could talk to her about that first. She might have trouble realizing what she's doing because of those mental health issues. I've been that friend who probably talked about their own problems too much and needed to see a therapist. And I wish my friends had talked to me, like you're supposed to with a friendship, instead of dropping me. I didn't realize that I had been draining them emotion…

Honestly, in my experience here in the US, the boomer generation parents don't know how to cook and therefore don't teach their children. So it's not just men who don't know how to fry an egg. I know because I'm a daughter of boomer parents and neither one could cook. I had to teach myself or learn from Home Economics in middle school if I wanted to eat anything that wasn't processed crap. I think she's starting to tear up thinking about the relationships of her past. Maybe not in a sad way, but more in that "my heart is so full of feeling, it might burst" way that love tends to give us. What a beautiful soul. I learned about a new role model today.

Thank you so much for that acknowledgement of how painful it is. It helps to feel seen. Thank you so much for your post and your comments. Your voice is exactly what a lot of women need to hear. Edit: what's really spooky about your comment is that one of the things I've had to accept is that my mom is leaving everything to my brother. Because he needs it more since I'm so capable.

I'm a scientist now and she doesn't even care. I'm a failure because I'm not paired up with some rich man. She coddles and supports my little brother and he's a NVM with no education, no job, no ambition, and a shit attitude. I hate it.

My mother constantly told me to marry for money, marry a doctor or a lawyer so I wouldn't have to work. It makes me sick to this day. I want to work and I definitely don't want to depend on any man! What terrible advice.

Yeah, I agree that if I was on OF, I definitely wouldn't want my male friends looking at it. If they want to support me, they can do it by being my friend. If they want to see my nudes, and if I'm ok with that, we're talking about sexual attraction that's honestly inappropriate in a friendship. I'm so glad OP dropped this scrote!

I'd take it a step further and just rely on their actions to show you who they are. And once they show you, trust that. Talk is cheap. LVMs will tell you all kinds of promises (aka lies) to keep you wasting your time.

It's so true. The thought of trying to date anyone is exhausting. Why go through all that? I'd rather do something fulfilling with my time. The mindset change has been an absolute revolution for me personally. I went from "why am I single, what's wrong with me?" to seeing myself as the source of my happiness, and that happiness doesn't depend on anyone else. It's been so freeing.

Well, that's a pretty long reply that I wasn't expecting and that doesn't really apply to my situation. But if you're curious, I already have 2 degrees, I'm at the top of my career ladder, I own 2 homes, I just bought a new car this year, I have awesome friends and I'm improving myself every day. Not with guns in European countries where that is illegal, I can tell you that much. I don't live in Europe, though, so I don't know the answer to your question. My point is, go ahead and own a gun if you're going to be a responsible gun owner. But don't think it's a magic weapon. The gun doesn't protect you. Your skills with a gun do. Guns are most useful for intimidating a criminal into leaving you alone, not killing them into it. Gun ownership from the perspective of a woman's self defense is…

Many European police departments do not allow the use of guns and so yeah, you're right. Less guns, less violence (against women) all around.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/10/20 06:00 AM

No, that's also if you're in any other situation. If a man can overpower you, then he's taking the gun you're pulling out for self-defense...and he's using it on you. The statistics on this are pretty clear. A gun is no better than any other protection measure.

This is a great description! I would add that love bombing can be more hyperbolic, general language like, "you're the best at_____, you're the most beautiful, you're the smartest", instead of genuine compliments. Genuine interest shows in compliments that aren't crazy over the top and aren't on a constant stream like a fire hose.

A gun can also be wrestled away from you. If you have a gun as a woman, you're only increasing the likelihood that it will be used against you. This is terrible, pro-gun advice. https://www.vpc.org/studies/myth.htm

Divorce isn't extreme when you're married to someone who doesn't think you are entitled to your unalienable rights as a human being. She's already in an extreme situation and needs to wake the fuck up. "I don't want to jump into something that extreme." Well, how do you justify your thought process in getting married in the first place? She's drowning in an extreme situation, people are throwing life preservers, and she's screaming back, "you're overreacting, I think I can work it out GLUG GLUG …

It's not fucking privilege. I'm sorry you can't see that. But I'm not going to let you tear me down to make yourself feel better. You have to go back to before those countries even existed. Admittedly this is my own belief based on the archaeological record, since at that time depth making hard and fast conclusions is problematic. There is a more recent example of a matriarchal society in a specific area of China and other examples in Native American cultures that I can find a reference for if you're interested. But I don't have any examples in the Middle East, Russia, or Europe because the patriarchy has been so deeply es…

I am starting to think that I'll never find someone, but I'm having way too much fun being single. It's so much less hassle. And if I want a companion for sex, I can find one eventually. I have some great toys, so I don't really need a sex partner either. I used to be scared to be alone, but now I'm more scared of being in another toxic relationship. It's just not worth it.

I think it's very important to remember that the patriarchy has NOT always existed. We held the power for centuries until men used their physical power to subjugate us. They have lived in absolute fear of us taking that power back for millenia. That's why they try to keep us down, they know we have the ultimate power in the universe, the power to create human life. Down with the patriarchy!

I had an ex who did the same thing and it pissed me off. I would look at him and ask, "did you want credit for thinking about it and then doing nothing? While you knew it would upset me when you did nothing? Because I give credit for actions, not thoughts. And your actions made me really upset." And then he would get mad and I would tell him to leave. Ugh, so glad that's in the past.
