The article is doing that if they are conveying the idea that the point is to win. I have no idea what you are talking about with jobs.

they complain they get paid less I've not seen one article or interview where one of the Matildas complained about pay vs their male counterparts. Could you provide a link?

Forced by circumstances. There aren't many female players of that advanced ability in Australia who are not already on the Matildas. As it is, not all of their members are even in the country. They frequently practice against boys of the approximate height, weight, and ability. People also seem to misunderstand the point of these practices. The goal of the team isn't to win per se - it's to exercise and improve their skills. With some of their top scorers overseas playing in professional leagues…

The Australian women's team is not the WNBA. The moment you start criticising any woman or group of women for the actions of another woman or group of women is when you cross from "pussypassdenied" into pure misogyny. If the Matildas at any point claimed they were better than all men or boys and then blamed their loss on the lads being unfair to women, then it would fit here. This article and post, aside from not having the full story, is nothing more than an excuse to make fun of women for simp…

I thought she was leaving. Was she actually part of the group? She looked more like a bystander trying to break up a fight unaware of the cause of the problem.

We saw that differently. I didn't think she was actually asking for the police to be called. She seemed to be saying "if you have a problem you can call the authorities". It's kind of a "fuck off and tell if you want".

I'd like to think we will have a new word that conveys "shitty person" and won't have to rely on words with ugly backstories. Maybe something borrowed from the German so it has a nice guttural feeling to it.

I agree that shitty people are shitty but it sucks that a word that means "black person" is considered synonymous with a word that means "shitty person". I get that "trash" just doesn't feel adequate to label people like this but, similar to "faggot", the connotation this word carries makes it a double-edged insult.

See this is where it all goes wrong. Calling them cunts is about them and their actions specifically. Calling them "niggers" maligns a whole group most of whom have nothing to do with these people and do not behave anything like them. Why insult people for sharing a complexion?

No but if I'm going to bathe in schadenfreude, I want it to be just. It's much more rewarding.

Shouldn't that mean you're happy you watched the full version so you know that he was actually being a prick?

He should also be able to sue her for the wages he lost for the weeks he couldn't work. She napalmed this man's life.

The registry does not need further watering down, though.

It's the Daily Mail. They are basically tabloid-level.

I don't think that's how that works. That would mean the cameraman might be in trouble as well but it wouldn't mitigate her actions by much. She's an adult.

What "bullshit" are you anticipating that would require your home to be placed in a trust or LLC?

Never trust reddit's advice. Half of them will tell you shit things like "get a lawyer" for every minor thing. That's how you end up shouting "am I being detained" as you are removed from your vehicle.

If the lawyer has free consultation, sure. Have a two minute phone call that will completely dissuade you from pursuing the matter further. If you have a lawyer that will charge, save your money since it may take a while before unemployment agrees to pay up.

Almost every state in the US has at will employment. You can be fired for anything that isn't a protected class and online activity or political beliefs are not protected.

It is sad but it's advice that both men and women should take to heart. Many rapists prey on a woman's tendency to be concerned for a hurt person or her desire to not seem rude or bitchy. Raised in this environment of paranoia, however justified, it opens up the mind to the possibility that something took place while you were vulnerable so it only makes sense that men should be on their guard in these situations as well. Basically, if your intentions are good, offer help at a distance. Stay arou…

In my line if work, overtime usually means that you couldn't get your work done in the regular day. Hardly worth rewarding. But I realise that has little to do with everyone else's situation. Besides, everyone in my department is exempt from overtime pay.

If seniority were a factor, I'd have been making much more. I said I was similar in qualifications than the male coworkers; I didn't mention that where there was a difference, I had the edge. I was more experienced, had been there longer, had a better work history, and was better educated. I want to believe that those men were just more likeable and that's why they got the push. It doesn't make it better and I'm not sure whether that's legal or not but it was too depressing at the time to believ…

She's lucky her boss was on her side. Some managers are shit and would rather lose a valuable employee and hire someone new cheap at the risk of productivity then give said valuable employee a decent rise.

If they are comparing hourly pay rates and not just averaging hours worked with total pay, overtime is irrelevant. I don't know if that's what they did, just pointing that out.

I upvoted you but I disagree with your blanket statement and I'll admit I only have anecdotal evidence. Being out of the workforce for a year doesn't always put you behind; it depends on the work you do and how you spend your time away from it. Nothing much changed in the weeks of my maternity leave (though I admit there is a difference between the couple of months I was allotted and the year you mentioned). I was able to get back to full speed my first week back. I did generally leave by 6 most…

That is a point that's often overlooked. I always see these articles about asking for a rise in salary but who does that work for? I work for a large corporation that also does yearly reviews. Your boss decides what percentage you will receive. There is no advocating for a larger percentage. When they present it you, it's already gone through HR and will be in your next pay. Your options are take it, reject it, or quit. As a supervisor conducting one of those meetings, I discovered that my salar…
