A high end gym has the potential for community building. Simply attending one of the monthly events be it sushi making, game night at the pool and others could be a good way to most importantly build community. Become an Uber driver. It doesn't take any commitment and you can just do a couple rides a week. Openers should be original, or creative. I created a fake account, the number of "hey", "hi" was appauling. I got a girl to initiate texting by opening with "did you happen to go on a first date last month to Chuy's" There's a reason for that, but the short version is I went on 6 dates with a girl in a few of her profile/instagram pictures.

Sucks about the size.. Don't say "Hey" Oh god. I created a fake profile of an old attractive coworker. Asides from 1200+ matches in a few hours half the messages were "hey". It was ridiculous. I didn't even spend much time with the fake profile before getting disgusted by the crapshoot that is Tinder.

I'm the same way. 4 years later I still get a disgusted feeling in my gut everytime I drive past a cafe that I blew my biggest chance. I was sorting balloons to make balloon animals and a girl seems really interested but I just let her walk away without saying anything (or making her something). Live and learn but I've kicked my self too many times for not saying something and thinking of what I should had said afterwards.

Peacocking also works on a mircroscale. I live in North Carolina but I'm often wearing a University of South Florida shirt which is a large school in a lesser known conference so it doesn't have the huge following as UF, Miami or FSU. So a broad "Where in Florida are you from" becomes "You're from Tampa?". I also make balloon animals, so I occasionally make bracelets made out of balloons... I guess that would make a pretty good accessory.
