You’re new, it’ll hit you eventually, probably via your kids. You’ve been told the same thing because it’s true. Better to prepare yourself now, build those support systems, and start talking to someone before it becomes real. Or be stubborn and do nothing and hope it doesn’t affect your relationships with those around you that you care about.

Truth hurts homie. Glad to see you’re reflecting on it 🙄

This, this, this. You come off as a jaded, sad, man OP. Working on yourself doesn’t mean just hitting the gym, it’s working on the mental stuff too. Therapy is an amazing tool, and I hope you put as much effort in there as you have elsewhere in your life.

You’ve got a long way to go. Stages of grief are a thing for a reason, and you’re in anger right now. Especially with kids involved, you’re going to go through a lot of emotions you wouldn’t expect. Keep your friends and family close for when the sadder times inevitably come. This is speaking as a divorced dad 4 years post divorce. It does, truly, get better though and unfortunately you’ve got to go through it to really get over it fully.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
