Garbage in Garbage out. They are worried about her safety because she is telling them she is worried about her safety. She cannot change facts but she sure can manipulate stories. The sad part of divorce is all the "family" and "friends" you will lose.

In 2026, there is a new phenomenon called "my truth" which sounds alot like "the truth" but they are not the same thing.

It's true what they say that Divorce is trading in one set of problems for another. I am not from the UK but a quick online search says you seek a civil injunction or restraining order under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 for "unwanted texts intended to distress you may qualify as harassment". This is controlling behavior and is meant to wear you down until you give up custody time and/or is meant to introduce chaos in your romantic relationship. Women are extremely good at playing the …

Often times accusations are confessions. Listen, you are her husband not her shrink. If she won't actively seek help and work toward a future that brings stability in your life and joy to the family then you have no obligation to stay committed. My point is, you dont need anyone's permission to leave the marriage.

Of course but flushing a marriage down the toilet within year 1 is not right either. The marriage barely had a chance to work through the kinks. There is a random dude out there humiliated and probably wondering what happened?!?

When you get past all the mumbo jumbo she wrote, it's clear this a young woman who likely got married because all her friends got married and wanted the wedding more than the marriage and got bored. She wants to get back out there and chase excitement while she is still in her best years (her words not mine). Marriage was and still is to build a family which would include children, outside of that, it's tough staying committed in a marriage long term after the honeymoon is over. At least she pac…

This is nothing to do with the vaccine and every thing to do with control. I am willing to bet $1000 that if the shoe was on the other foot she would have followed the docs recommendation. The Sheriffs ain't her daddy, tell her to kick rocks.

Ethical non-manogamy are words like mental load. You have to accept it as if they are actual facts and not extortion. Give them ethical "ethical non-manogamy" in the form of divorce.

Being angry does not make them wrong. It's not alot asking for the truth for why they want a divorce. "There is another guy I want and not you anymore" instead of all the games and gaslighting as to why the relationship isn't working.

A teenager...likely somewhere between 13-17. Old enough to understand the actions they are taking but likely ignorant of the lifetime consequences for her herself and her father. OP hang in there, one day, all of this will be in the past and hopefully you will be able to cry it away with your manipulated kid.

Listen to this guy ^ also do not take legal advice from your soon to be ex. In most places alimony is temporary and is usually to someone who had little or no income.

Give it time and keep that door open. Teenagers are not rational. Life will humble them in due time. Right now they are adult sized without any of the responsibilities and pitfalls. Once they are on their own and learn of the real world, they will come around and will be more cooperative and understanding. Keep being there for her, this too shall pass.

You are fighting an enemy that knows better than anyone. She knows your buttons to a T and therefore can destabilize you. The best thing you can do is to go grey rock. The person you remember from years ago, is no longer this person. It's strictly business from now on with 0 expectation. Do not expect her to play fair and you should not concede anything for the sake of kindness. There maybe one day where you and her can sit down and make amends but the next year is going to be a her vs you. Good…

Send the email and offer to answer any question. Having been a child of a high conflict divorce myself, the relationship can be potentially repaired. When you are a kid or a teenager, we blindly believe the lies told by our mothers.

That's not how she sees it clearly. If she gave a **** about her kids, she probably would not have gotten a divorce. She's a free woman who has to catch up on "the fun" she missed while married. She needs to create stories to tell to her girlfriend otherwise her divorce would be for nothing. You know for the "gram"

Maybe it's not therapy you need but a chance of scenery. If you can afford it, go live in a place where the people, the climate and the way of life is different (alaska, south east asia even the carribeans). We're not all made to thrive in this concrete jungle we call society.

There is a reason why people say "men are in love and women are in business". The funny thing is, saying things like "I can call someone" or "I didn't ask you to do this" is all good for now but when the bills come due and the problems start to stack up, they often will crumble like a deck of cards.

Women are a dime a dozen and you really wanted one, you would have to put the work in. When you are a broken person, you will attract other broken people. You just need support and a therapist can help you in the area. Don't give up, life does get better!

Slow down homie. Get an attorney and follow their advice. 8 years and no kids likely means temporary alimony. The best thing to do is seek guidance both legal and mental. You can get a separation to create distance and not lose all your assets while figuring out the financial stuff. According to a simple web search "In Texas, an 8‑year marriage with no children almost never qualifies for court‑ordered alimony. Texas requires 10+ years of marriage unless the requesting spouse has a disability, is…

Are women ever truly alone? Women will break up with a man in the morning and will be in bed with another by midnight. They only realize that sleeping with men and getting commitment from them are not the same thing, usually when it's too late.

Marriage is similar to a be a co-owner of a small business. If you have the right partner you can become extremely successful and have an amazing life. If you have a shitty partner, you will be bankrupt within 5 years.

There are huge incentives to keep the status quo. Newspapers rely on ads revenue, business rely on money to stay profitable, women spend more on average than men. Thus newspapers have to ponder to women to continue the grift.

Don't let the abused women in shelters fool you. A decade ago, I had an Aunt move in with us with her son and then went into a shelter for abused women to be able to get on a priority list for subsidized housing. She essentially took a kid from his dad for a couple years and screwed the system, and she did all this because she couldn't get along with a husband who told her no. 2-3 years later she is back with that same man and had more children. I guess living in the ghetto as a single mom is no…

When you're stressed, your body releases cortisol, a hormone that helps you respond to threats. But when cortisol levels stay high for too long (chronic stress), it can interfere with the hippocampus, the part of your brain responsible for forming and retrieving memories. You need sleep, rest and regular exercise to come out of this funk you are in. Don't be too hard on yourself.

This is one where you will need alot of professional help as you are dealing not only with a soon to be ex wife but also a full blown addict who are unpredictable. This person has gone to great length to deceive you as such you should not expect fair play as you untangle from them. You will need a lawyer, a therapist and a specialist who deals with addicts. Good luck.

If you don't think women collude then I have a bridge to sell you. I was recently summoned for jury duty to a criminal case in my city. The entire legal system from the judge to the clerks to the admin staff were all women. If you think you as man you are going to walk into a similar room and get out with a favorable ruling lol.

You will be better for it. You have to be patient. Gym, Therapy, reconnect with friends and family and game/divorce planning should be your focus right now. Divorce is a game of who can outlast the other financially, you need as much ammo (cash). Houses will be here 2-3 years down the road.

Lawyers are not future tellers, they can't say how opposing counsel will react or if there is a contested divorce, how a judge will rule. I would not lock myself into a new home purchase when the fight of your life looms over the hill. Invest the money if you must and figure out your marital situation. There is no point in buying a house you will have to sell 1-2 years and lose out on closing cost, real estate fees etc....Don't be distracted during this critical time.

What you said was mostly true until approx 5 years ago. The new generation is much more educated on the topic of marriage and the consequences of a failed marriage. This is the reason why marriages are down significantly and in an approx another 5-10 years half of the women in their 30 years will be single and unwed. How do I know? Social media is both a blessing and a curse. We now get to see the unfiltered truth about how women think and behave. The positive is that young men are learning by watching rather than learning by being led to the slaughter house. Divorce laws are changing slowly but at least they are changing somewhat. My 2 cents.

I had a good friend who's extended family structure nearly collapsed after 1 divorce caused 2 more and 1 was salvaged after she discovered the dating pool for 50+ year old women is non-existent. That was one eye opening summer for me. The family that looked close together fell like a deck of cards because of you know feelings.

"Working on myself" is code word for I want to be by myself so I have all the runway possible to stick the landing before I age out of the dating pool. Women are not that deep or difficult to understand once you realize they are looking out for the most important person "themselves". There is no self improvement you can't do while married that you can do single, besides getting another man.

It doesn't matter if you didn't ask her to discipline your kids or not. Once they live under both your roofs, they now become both your problems. Thankfully your relationship did not implode but I would have an honest open discussion as to how you can make it work for both of you or this could be incredibly difficult for you and your kids. No step-parent want all the liabilities of kids and none of the authority. You are in a less flexible position than she is. Do not sleep on this.

I appreciate the unfiltered truth this forum provides but I don't think this guy is an idiot. It's okay to want to be married again and have a long happy relationship and more children. However, I would approach a 2nd marriage with much more caution though now that you have exposed to the full lifecycle of marriage and divorce. SAHM should only be 3-5 years max until the kids reach school age. Beyond that, maintaining a house is not a 8-10 hrs job. Majority of cleaning are done by machines (dishwasher, laundry, sweeping and mopping). Woman don't have the sense of loyalty that men generally have. While divorce trends are on the way down, Grey divorces are on the way up. SAHM are filling for divorce when the husband is a few years/months away from retirement. This is not a coincidence.

You are way to preoccupied with her opinion. It's time to take the gloves off. No more Mr. Nice guy. You now pay only the stuff that you are legally required. That means mortgage payments, car payments, insurance and child support. Cut off all their discretionary spending, netflix, sport activities etc... If your spouse is holding your finances hostage and you are not seeing your kids. Then just leave the country. The world is vast and you can rebuild somewhere else. You can return in a few years and explain to your kids that you needed time to heal. They will understood. This too shall pass.

Women control access to sex and men control access to relationships. Even if getting a date is easier for them in the long run, they still don't get the commitment they are seeking. Don't let the thirst strap and the Instagram stories fool you. The dating scene for older women is treacherous.

I understand she was in your life for a long time and you built a relationship but her mother does not seem to care about anyone's feelings including her own child. She choose her partners poorly twice (not an insult to you) and this will affect her kids. If you are like most men who want a family and legacy of their own, walking away all together will give you the highest chance of reaching your goals.

Brother you are allowed to move with your life. You don't need to feel guilty or have to have a break up conversation with the kid. Just explain you need time to recover from the divorce and will reach out when you are ready. She's her biological parents responsibility not yours. Don't maintain a relationship out of guilt. The kid will know and you will know.

Depends which side of the table you are on. I have dated people who were fresh of their breakups and were still liking their wounds. It's not fun dating someone who still have feelings (good or bad) towards their ex. It's a weird position to be in, trying to court someone while also playing therapist with that person. It's okay to be single for a bit.
