As a white man I feel safe in assuming I will get over this, as will most all of us in this group. My colonoscopy was way worse than this. It ended with 24 hours in ICU. ICU is the most boring place on earth.

What? The hotel owner has been left devastated and is now being forced to sell her home to make up for the missing finances, it was said. The court also heard how her hopes of retiring and leaving a thriving business to her sons are in ruins.

In 2000 Katherine (Katie) Smith made allegations against her father, Tim Smith, which put him in prison for 20 years. He was finally released after 6 years due to the utter inadequacy of the 'evidence' against him. In Kentucky, in February 2005, Katherine Smith tried to cut the baby out of Sarah Brady. Smith was killed by the woman she attacked. This may have affected the view of the case against her father. https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Health/story?id=495623&page=1

What everyone needs is a functioning justice system. What we have is a system where what happens depends on the IQ level of the jurors, many of whom are incapable of understanding the instructions they are given.

Sure, but I always remember this: She is, for the moment, America's most famous sex offender: young, blonde, and in the words of her lawyer, "too pretty for prison." When the prosecution in Florida this week dropped charges against Debra Lafave, a former teacher who admitted having sex with a boy who was then 14 years old, they reignited a debate about whether society is willing to tolerate sexual misconduct if the aggressor is female and, as in Lafave's case, attractive.

After pleading guilty to repeatedly sexually abusing a 3-week-old baby and a pair of 6-year-old girls, Goodman fainted in the courtroom upon hearing the judge sentencing him to 260 years in prison, the Providence Journal reports. At the request of his attorney, Goodman had expected to receive around 22 years in prison, which could easily result in an early release based on good behavior. Upon hearing his bicentennial sentence, however, he fell forward into the table in the middle of the courtroo…

Simpson didn't have a gun, didn't threaten anyone with a gun and didn't use a gun to force anyone to move anywhere. Still no explanation for the acquittals of T Cullen Davis and Robert Durst - two rich, white men.

Who said he was pretending? A blood soaked glove, dried out in storage, could well be impossible to fit. I note that you offer no explanation for the acquittals of T Cullen Davis and Robert Durst - two rich, white men.
/r/PussyPass20/02/16 04:44 AM
1

And yet that is typical of the mass of Americans. In contentious cases, I very often hear them rant on about 'evidence' that exists only in their minds, not in reality. Once the media get involved in a trial, justice flies away, never to be seen again. In the case of Casey Anthony, at least one juror was sobbing because she "had to say not guilty because of the evidence and the jury instructions". An odd reaction indeed.
/r/PussyPass20/02/16 04:41 AM
3

Yep. There's a complete lack of consistency in the 'system'. It's like the 'affluenza' asshole. He kills 4 and gets probation. The same judge sentenced a black kid who killed one man under much less bad circumstances to 20 years in prison. The rich take care of their own.

Could be. It's an incredibly serious crime, but the pussy pass worked again.
/r/PussyPass20/02/16 12:03 AM

They didn't say he was innocent. They merely said that they couldn't, in all honesty, find him guilty. IMO the verdict might have been guilty if the LAPD hadn't tried to save $1,000.
/r/PussyPass20/02/16 12:02 AM
2

He "got off" because the LAPD were so incompetent they got caught trying to frame him. When all of the evidence is untrustworthy, a conviction is unjustified. You are stupid to ignore the extreme racism so obvious in the different reactions to the verdict by whites and blacks. If you are so fond of justice, explain the acquittals of T Cullen Davis and Robert Durst -- in Texas.
/r/PussyPass19/02/16 11:59 PM

You're an ignoramus who doesn't understand evidence or the burden of proof. God help any poor bastard who has you as a juror. The jury verdict was correct. Given Philip Vannatter's total disregard for procedure, the continued perjury by prosecution witnesses and the utter incompetence of the LAPD crime techs, there was no choice. But I'm sure that for you, being black == guilty.

Because he got away with murder Thanks to the utter fuckup by the LAPD we will never know who killed them. This is not to say that the posted story does not belong here just that the comment about OJ felt out of place It was a faked up crime with bought and paid for 'evidence'. The Supreme Court decision not only vilifies Mike Ryan, but the RCMP as well. In its ruling it noted: “It seems the authorities were much quicker to intervene to protect Mr. Ryan than they had been to respond to her request for help in dealing with his reign of terror over her.” Cpl. Chris Thibeaudeau’s response: “That’s total baloney.” The decision prompted the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP to investigate.
