at least when it comes to drugs and what they affect This I agree with. Neuroscience is objective - they can point to specific neurotransmitters and describe what a deficiency looks like and can fix it with pills. Psychology, however, is entirely subjective.

preventative health care Implying that this is necessarily a good thing? Sure, get an annual physical, teeth cleanings twice per year, etc. That's common sense. But asking your doctor for anti-depressants because it's winter and you're sad? Or having low-normal thyroid function and demanding a life-long prescription to synthetic thyroid hormones? Or tweaking a muscle in your back and getting hooked on painkillers the rest of your life? The medical system is a business. It's their job to look for…
