Girl was minor, but the boy was only a year older, that's covered in Texan law by what is usually referred to as a "Romeo and Juliet" law, I believe it's mentioned in the article actually. And as is also covered, he was invited in so he's not trespassing.

doesn't work a lot of the time, marriage isn't always necessary for these claims to go through if they can prove you were in a long term commitment.

that doesn't always work.. its becoming more common for marriage to not even be necessary to still claim these benefits if you are in a long term relationship.

Actually this a feature in some other species, the use isn't generally for gang rape but simply having multiple sexual partners; assuming gang rape from that is completely unfounded. For what it's worth, it's speculated that women moaning during sex was a means of drawing other males over to the party so to speak, if there was group sex going on there's good reason to believe that it was consensual.

I categorically refuse to see it any other way We doesn't that speak a lot. At least on some level you seem to acknowledge that your problem comes from a skewed perception of the situation and not the actual situation itself. If i rented an flat and paid the landlord rent for 10 years, do you think i would be entitled to the landlord then turning over all his properties to their residents because he was making money from them living there? What about when he owns all the flats in a city? or say.…

Your logic is impeccable, when you take everything someone owns they do not have anything left. But that is just a stupid acknowledgement of what I said, you just want to take things off them because they own a lot. As for them not owning jack shit, you couldn't be more wrong. They own a huge amount of territory and give a huge amount of income from said ownership to the people. They accept an incredibly modest income considering, they are actually a lot less wealthy that some celebrities, write…

Their family owns the land in the same way someone would own inheritance when they give it to them. You think that you can simply changed the rules because someone inherited a lot more than you did? You think that if my dad died and left his business to me, or the family house, in his will it should automatically be revoked ownership to the government because I didn't earn it the hard way, shall we take the line a bit further? Your dad buys you a car? FUCK that, that's your dads money not yours,…

Well, considering the huge amount of land they own, and the huge portion of their income they sacrifice and give to the country when they are well within their rights of ownership to simply take it for themselves. Considering the huge amounts in tourism they generate simply being here and the massive incomes they generate from they country from simply just doing regular stuff, they definitely make the money we give them and more right back into the country. Man cheats: Worst that scum. Woman cheats: Confused and neglected / Sexually liberated. Man dissatisfied in bed: Misogynistic, single minded cunt / Worthless lover. Woman dissatisfied in bed: Man is worthless lover / Sexually free. Man beats woman: Monster. Woman beats man: Hero to womankind, man probably did something. The way the world seems to look at it is this: Violence against men by women is simply unimportant compared to violence against women by men. It doesn't matter how hurtful it is, it doesn't matter on an individual level, it could be a former female wrestler against the asthmatic leader of a high school chess club and it wouldn't really matter because shes a girl and hes a guy so he should suck it up and she should be celebrated for showing how the kid is dripping with male privilege.

we must be the few and far between then. While i was in my early sex life i found climaxing was particularly difficult, some level of performance anxiety just made it incredibly difficult, although generally the sessions would last for a long time, they'd usually just end with an awkward. The real problem is who's doing it, it's a vocal minority, but the people who are most probe to think this way are the same who are likely to try and make their opinion heard, the self proclaimed 'alphas' the problem is they are trying for the attention by acting this way, they are very difficult to reason with about sexual issues like this because even accepting the notion that they're not less masculine for feeling bad for the guy, or that refusing sexual advances makes you any less of a man. …

The way i see it, porn is a form of entertainment, and should be taken as much. We shouldn't blame it for unreal portrait of sex and body images as much as we should blame Indiana Jones for promoting an unrealistic portrayal of Archeology or High School Musical for promoting an unrealistic portrayal of High School. i think the problem was with OPs statement that the wrong sex is being profiles, when in fact i dont think either sex needs to be profiled on the matter, the problem is that one sex is being used as a scapegoat, while the other is overlooked. to be honest, in my opinion there shouldn't be need for anything other than "you are mutilating a child" Why should that need any further reasoning than that. And why should it? it speaks for itself "You are permanently disfiguring an infant"... And yes there are benefits. Marginal benefits that only really affect a minority of people who are circumcised. when i said it wasn't relevant i said it wasn't relevant that YOU thought you were abused, i then clarified it by saying that if others do feel abused by the exact same practice, it is child abuse. which is exactly the case, while the practice is being done there is no way to know whether the person who you are mutilating would want this, and a significant number of those will grow to resent what has been done to them. The choice cannot be undone by them in later life if you don't want it. The o…

well... actually no. A lot of victims of domestic abuse or child abuse when confronted will jump to the defense of their attackers. Its sadly very common. It's commonly due to the abuse twisting the victims perception, the attacked would have them starting to believe that when they get beat they do deserve it. In this case it's generally down to the twisted perceptions of society to not only accept child mutilation as a norm, but actively encourage it and attempt to shame those who don't. So no.…

its not relevant whether you personally feel you were abused, while there are other people who do feel abused it is still child abuse. If you wished to go ahead and lob part of your dick of in later life that fine, but the important part is it should be a choice of the person undergoing the operation, not of that persons parents. I think thats what you're missing. If you're parents shaved you're head every day so that you didnt get nits? that would be child abuse. If you're parents never let you…

It's hard to say, intent seems highly unlikely (but not impossible) but the behavior has to come from somewhere, parents or close family members seems to best candidate. Either which way it is, serious investigations should be made. Because i don't think that's healthy behavior for a child and something has to change.

true, but in a decent society we wouldn't have false accusations. Innocent until proven guilty refers more to the fact we don't just lock people away the moment an accusation is made, in this example, for those accused of the crime their 'innocent until proven guilty' comes during the courts, where the burdon of proof should fall on the accuser to prove that they are not innocent. My treatment of the accusation however follows this to the letter, treat the accusation as true until proven otherwi…

Sex is like anything else, if you're not comfortable doing something and its not legally required of you to do it, you should not have to do it. Thats not to say there cannot be repercussions from you're refusal. On the other side of the coin, women, if you're guy doesn't do oral and its that much of a deal breaker, find someone else who does. If it's not a deal breaker, you can always request it, but never expect anyone to do anything they're not comfortable with. And anyone out there: "well if…

"rape culture" = Is kind of an extension of the patriarchy idea that society is set up in such a way that rape is encouraged among men as a form of dominance against women. Any time sexual prowess among men is celebrated, or when a woman's sexual prowess is vilified, it's rape culture. Whenever any 12 year old uses the phrase "You've just got raped" in a videogame, its rape culture training kids that rape is a good thing. etc etc. A "rape supported" is generally someone who partakes in any of th…

Sure, but it never specifies marriage, no legal binding, and in any relationship if the person who makes the money has no control over it, that person themselves is probably being more abused than the other. it's really down to the situation on that, its definitely a thin line, but i still think race holds the upper hand in terms of general discrepancy; example: Two job applicants, one straight black man, one gay white man; if the gay white man got picked for the job despite having the worse application, it would be seen as a lot worse than if it was the straight black man who got the job despite having the worse application; the race is almost always thought of before race. It's all part of the same problem, majority or 'dominant' group tend not to be seen as a viable target of prejudice simply because they are the majority. In terms of sexes this leads to mens right being ignored or worse demonized; while in terms of gender it translates to white people being viable targets for racism from other groups, including race attacks against whites being overlooked as 'random violence' rather than race attacks. Why should the burden of proof be on the accuser, and not on the accused? Because thats how the law works... Thats how any sort of rational reasoning works, and how it should work. true, there are more feminine styles out there, but the stigma is still there, the idea that in order to be a man, in order to stay a masculine person, everything you wear/do/say has to as well be masculine. Red IS a specific band of colours on the electromagnetic spectrum, commonly cited between 620–740nm. just as every other colour corresponds to a frequency of light, even when the colour is artificially produced by combining two separate wavelengths, the resultant colour still correspond…

Nitpickings the fun facts? Classy. But no, i was referring to the colour pink, aka magenta/fushia, rather than the laymen definition of it as a shade. y'no, as in the ones that show up on the colour wheel

They'd probably be overreacting but assuming the initial attacker then leaves and the threatener doesn't make any actual attempt to go through with the threats, you could probably get away with just trying to scare away the attacker in a non-violent way. Stern warning material mostly.

I think the header is actually more of a criticism of the Barbados police; the " 'Attacker' " comes off more sarcastic or satirical than accusing. Although when i read the 'attacker' i imagined it with those sarcastic quote fingers, which i assume is the way it was meant to be read. The post isn't meant to show a problem, so much as to express a nicety, a good thing that happened, false allegations (made by police of all people) were overcome by the hard workings of the supposed victims themselv…

if they were threatening further violence, sure it would be self defense, if he suckerpunched you and ran away, and you gave chase, its no longer defense because you're no longer in danger, you're not defending against anything, you have instead simply switched to the attacker. while it may not be the most morally correct standpoint to take, because im sure youd want to fight back, if you're not in any more immediate danger, you're not actually protecting yourself from anything.

Fun fact 1: Pink used to be considered more masculine than feminine. Fun fact 2: On missions to the desert, British SAS would commonly wear a shade of pink and have their vehicles coloured a shade of pink, since this offered the best camouflage. Fun fact 3: There is no Pink light, whereas almost all other colours correspond to a frequency of light, pink does not, it is an illusion brought about by a mix of red and violet light. On topic, I don't know how it would fall if the stigma wasn't a fact…

no legal training, but if she slapped you, slapping her right back isn't self defense, the attack is over what are you defending against? Its just hitting her back, she attacks you and you'd be attacking her back, something you'd probably get into more trouble for.

theres a big difference between there BEING all men on the court and implying that there should be all women, there being all men is something that is current, but in need of change, claiming that there should be no men on the court is attempting to actively harm the balance, attempting to take away all of mans control instead of finding equality.

If you’re a man who thinks that there’s a “War on Men,” you probably deserve to get beaten by the women. Nobody minds if i switch this around do they? "If you're a woman who thinks that there's a "War on Women," you probably deserve to get beaten by the men" Hm. Yeah, that doesn't sound very nice does it? But the part that gets me most is that the article even existing proves that feminism is actually having a damaging affect on male rights, simply being raised into a generation bombarded by fem…

welcome to the backwards world of 'Gender equality'. Only everyone else has race/gender/sexuality discrimination issues, and you're not allowed to talk on behalf of any of them, you're the straight white man, you're the enemy. On a serious note though, you can't reason with people like these, the most you can do is attempt to give them information they can't refute, statistics, but even then you're likely not going to change someones mind once theyve got it into their heads that they are the vic…

She's misinformed, but posts like these are less 'how can i help' and more 'movember is stupid and ive found another reason why'. Optimism is great, but sadly if you read the tone, the OP isn't asking where they can get involved, they're just criticizing for the sake of it. Although admittedly it seems a bit trivial to post here, its not really a major issue that some nobody on facebook wants to hate, definitely not worth everyone getting themselves all worked up.

No offense, but yeah, you're kind of the asshole in this instance, she was being threatened, not verbally mind, where a lot of people like to see a technicality, but by blocking her from her car, effectively trapper her the threat was definitely there; and while the 'with violence' part of the statement is a lie, she was in fact being threatened. If they purposely put her threatening position, obstructing her from her vehicle in attempts to force her not to leave, she was being physically threat…

God no... God damn no, anyone who didn't help in bringing that child into the world should not be legally or financially responsible for it, that's just called being sane, anyone who would think it right for a single mother to basically lay claim to child support from anyone simply because she 'needs' the money is simply wrong! Lack of context, the pools may not have men-only sessions because no one has asked for them, im not against women having women-only sessions, but im not going to say that if you implement a women only sessions you must also at the same time implement a men only session. If you want a men only session at you're local pool, request one, if they refuse, ask why. Then report back with you're findings and you shall be able to assess whether you're pools are sexist, or simply giving what is requested.

The problem is its largely considered the norm in the states (and many other places, although the us seems more relevant to the post), which means many parents are doing it not because they have a religion or moral reason to, but more because thats just 'what happens'. Luckily i live in the UK and it's definitely not such a big tradition over here, outside of religious groups of course, so i never did get circumcised, and i would absolutely never consider it unless it was a last option; safe to …

If they already have a women only night, there is no reason they should not have a mens night should the request be raised, as it has, simply supporting the request would help it. And for what it's worth there are a lot of men who are self conscious when working out around women, the obesity epidemic was an interesting point to bring up, considering a lot of guys are overweight if could cause them to be more self-conscious, having a mens only night may give a group of these people more comfortab…

yes, the burden of proof should always belong to the accuser, not the accused. And honestly, i feel peoples identities should remain anonymous until anything is decided in court in cases like these; so often false allegations hurt the accusee in ways that simply cannot be taken back, especially when it comes to public figures, who usually end up having to give up their entire careers simply on the allegation, regardless of whether the allegations are true.

yeah, but thats kind of the problem, not complaining that the store is a sexist monster, but that the kind of passive opinion needs to start to change. Its the kind of thing i imagine a male parent [im not myself] would just get a knock down from; kind of reminds you that while you might be the best dad in the world, you'll still be considered second best by default to a mother.

but it does go further; real men aren't violent to women [even in cases when they're defending themselves], real men pay for everything, real men do this, real men do that. Even to little stuff, the phrase is used so damn commonly just to win arguments. You're family member was given the information, and without any other source of information speculated based on personal experience. they didn't accuse all suicidal men of being mentally ill and especially not out of some sort of bias; she merely stated that the only occurance she could recall was of a suicide out of mental illness and expanded on it; you're question forced them into a conversation they clearly weren't familiar with and they did their best.
