I also didn't get far tbh. I just know that he raises a question similar to yours in the preface. More precisely, he wants to examine why we simultaneously believe that we are sexually repressed, and yet sexuality is pervasive (so not the same question as yours, but definitely related).

It could be read that way, but if that's the message they wanted to send, why didn't they just say something like, "sexual assault is a men's issue too," or, "both men and women need to play a part in ending sexual assault"? My point also stands that a phrase like, "gangs are a black issue," would garner no support whatsoever, regardless of the intention of the author.

This poster was on display in my dorm at college. It's true that the majority of sexual assault crimes are perpetrated by men against women, but you'd never see this type of generalization about other groups of people. A poster that read, "gangs are a black issue," would cause an uproar.

Society has become “feminised” in the skills it values: multitasking, communication, sitting still in front of a computer — all these play to female strengths rather than male ones. I'd have to disagree about the point on computers; many of the heaviest internet users and gamers are male (just look at reddit), and the majority of CS/CE students are also male.

I can't say that I find anything wrong with this at all. If someone wanted to set up a job site specifically for men, blacks, quadriplegics, whatever, then that's cool too. It bothers me that there's a sort of double standard when it comes to this kind of dualism - if someone set up a job site that catered to whites only, the outrage would be unfathomable - but ultimately, I don't see why a private business shouldn't be able to choose their clientele as they see fit.

The Male Pill will never become a reality because it gets in the way of women wanting to have children. If we want to make this subreddit pleasant for everyone, then we shouldn't hurl around baseless accusations. Although we've all heard horror stories about women tricking men into fathering children, pregnancy really does have a larger impact on women, and the majority take steps to prevent accidental pregnancies.
