1	Meth user throws rocks at productive citizens. Justice ensues. I think there may be some confusion when talking about folks like Bezos and Amazon the company itself. Amazon's federal tax bill is at $0, but that is because they've been carrying over losses from years back that offset their gains. That's completely reasonable and the media has made a circus out of this. His personal return isn't made public, but he will certainly have to pay taxes on his gains when he disposes Amazon stock. Individual taxes in the US are, for the most part, based on income and not wealth. So, wealth being concentrated to a small group should have no bearing against the statistics that you're replying to. Just because you "can" pay more, doesn't mean you "should". 1	Well played Finances are among the most common reasons marriages and relationships end. If you can already minimize the issue, why not do it on the first date instead of potentially developing an emotional connection and dealing with the issue further down the road? 2	Well played We're not necessarily talking about a financially driven relationship. We're talking about whether or not we'd be financially compatible. It's not the end all be all for me, but it certainly is a major factor. If we're not in a similar place financially, one person will be more financially stressed going out or the other will have to subsidize them. There's always tension from this.
