1	The Guardian wants to do away with juries at rape trials and assume automatic guilt on the part of the accused I'm a lawyer. The jury system is grossly ineffective for all crime and, while I don't totally agree with her, there is something to be said for a single judge trial instead of a jury trial. (1) it wasn't nonconsensual (2) Courts don't decriminalise things (3) even if I was wrong about 1 and 2, an appropriate response to mistreatment isn't more mistreatment (4) there's a point to be made about objectification here that's a lot more sensible (5) are you fucking drunk? Edit: actually it may have been nonconsensual. If we had seen this happen to a female sportsperson who stood there awkwardly while it happened, we would doubt the quality of the consent given the imposing situation. 1	Worst rape conviction in history. Feminist judge convicts man without evidence, blames him for pleading innocent and offering testimony that contradicted the "victim". Gives speech about rape "myths" and even reads poetry! We gotta be careful not to react to a rape conviction like feminists react to an acquittal. I was speaking with a female junior colleague who asked me what to wear to a professional conference we were headed to. I said it didn't matter as dress codes don't generally change what women wear. She agreed. Hillary needs to spend more on figuring it out because women's clothing is much freer in a professional context.
