Accurate representation of feminismI admitted fully that my entire intent was to point out how people more worried about protecting their side are not at all interested in actually solving problems. Yes, that was the entire idea behind the post. I knew that both sides would freak out rather than see the possibility for nuanced discussion. The whole idea was to illustrate this by forcing them both to oppose me and see that neither were open to even entertaining the possibility that there could be a solution that helps both sides. … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/05/20 10:29 AM
Accurate representation of feminismAs I said to another commenter, both sides appealed to the "predatory nature" of men. Both sides were overly concerned with the comfort of groups. Whether that be concerned about women having to be in a bathroom with men, or children of the opposite sex being in the room with opposite sex adults. Or, on the other side, with the idea that if trans and nonbinary folks don't have their own room then we're "erasing them". | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/05/20 09:07 AM
Accurate representation of feminismNo, the desire was originally for a third bathroom. Cause trans and nonbinary people EXIST DAMMIT! And they need a place too, and not having something specifically for those people ERASES THEM. Both sides of that argument also appealed to a supposedly predatory nature of males. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/05/20 09:04 AM
Accurate representation of feminismNo, it's about illustrating why when you're easily triggered you are actively in the way of solutions you claim to care about. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/05/20 05:09 PM
Accurate representation of feminismYeah I over simplified the point I was making back in 2013/4 in this comment. But those are the exact sorts of things I was pointing out. I will say though that right now urinals make more sense than ever before. As a guy you get to take advantage of the fact that you don't really need to touch anything except your own clothes and own body to pee. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/05/20 04:20 PM
Accurate representation of feminismIt's really funny, I remember in like 2013 or 2014 I posted on Facebook saying that gendered bathrooms made no sense because stalls provide all the privacy anyone could ever need and it was a waste of money to plumb separate bathrooms. BOTH sides of this argument lost their fucking minds and that was my entire intent. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/05/20 01:18 PM
