My school has about as much affirmative action but thugs aren't really a problem here. Maybe it's cause we're a small Liberal Arts campus but I really haven't met any. Douchey bro types tend to be WAY more of a problem here.

Actually it wasn't a status, it was a comment on a long conversation between my friends who like to discuss politics. It has long since veered away from that. The thing is that the conversation wasn't even about sexism in the first place, it was about Margaret Thatcher, but her and this other friend of her's just LOVE to veer every conversation we have to something about Feminism, and when it doesn't go there way they try to bow out of the argument, and claim they're so much better than everyone…

This is pretty hard for me to read. I was stuck in a very similar situation. My parents were divorcing just as I was starting high school. I was also doing terrible academically. I came really close to death at that point. The combination of all these things led to me almost killing myself. Divorce is a very tough thing that I don't even think society has even begun to figure out how to help children get through.

I was saying it's not the kind of thing I would do to my children anyway. I guess my comment "contributes to the discussion" by sharing a more moderate viewpoint. I was circumcised at birth. I'm not disappointed with my body the way it is now, nor do I hold much animosity towards my parents since it seems to me they did it more to make it look better than for religious reasons. Still not the kind of thing I think I'll end up doing to my kid. That's all.

Haven't watched the whole thing, but from the looks of it it's about the plights of a low-grade prostitute. I still remember the first time I ventured into /r/Feminism I was a little worried I'd find rageworthy material there, but was shocked to instead find an article expressing anger about society's negative attitude toward dads. I was thoroughly impressed. I still haven't gone back yet, but based on that small sampling I got, they seemed like tame people. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Whenever it comes to issues of abortion I think of something my dad once said to me: A man has 49% of the vote. I think that's fair.
