Yeah, because the news has to follow very specific rules otherwise they will be punished by the God of journalism, Oprah Winfrey. What the fuck are you talking about the news "has" to report it that way? They don't have to do shit. They wrote that because it's a juicier headline.

The 0.001‰ statistic is based on her using the pill exactly as required. That includes so many factors that in reality, it's a MUCH higher percentage than that.

If you care at all about the relationship, note that this action will put a damper on it. Best thing to do would to wait until the ultrasound to confirm she's pregnant. After that, if you question that it's someone else's child, then I'm guessing there would be reasons behind that? In which case, yes absolutely get a paternity test.

This is exactly the kind of stuff that gets heard outside of this subreddit. It's why /r/atheism had its downfall, the community got too large and the people who up voted things like this became the majority. I would say that most of what your saying is correct, however the 95% estimate is a way off. On any given day, one of the top posts on Mensrights is an argument between people on Facebook, much like /r/atheism always had. And although I have seen some great discussion in the comments before, many of the discussions turn quickly into "Thats because women are x and x..." giving the "circle jerk" feel. I had a response to itscirony down below, but alot of the problem in r/mensrights is in the community constantly down voting things that present new arguments or critical thinking to the subject, and then they upvote comments like "Typical feminists..." or some crap like that, which adds nothing to the discussion. Go to anything on the front page of Mensrights and scroll down to find the few people speaking up with an intelligible remark and I can guarantee its been down voted.

Pretty much all of this. This subreddit is way more Anti-feminism and sometimes just plain anti women than it is gender equality, which is what I was hoping for.

I'm not a huge fan of /r/mensrights, I'll be honest. But I subscribe because occasionally there is a very good discussion that is worth the read. They're hard to find, but they exist. This subreddit shouldn't be exempt from /r/bestof since the whole purpose of that subreddit is about finding gems in non-default subreddits. I hope they have a very good reason for banning this subreddit.
