The wasted timeI was married 37 years. It wasn't a waste of time. I tried to look at divorce as a time to start new. Go ahead, feel sad, depressed, whatever. But when you done think of all the things you are able to do after the divorce. For me it was fix the house the way I wanted it, get the kind of car I wanted, take weekend trips without having to worry letting someone know where I'm going or worry that they will get upset. | 5 | Question on when you fileSounds like you should stop them as soon as possible. Let her get he own credit cards if she wants them | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/21 03:32 AM
How did you recover financiallyNot totally the same situation. I don't have child support or alimony to pay but I did get a second job as an usher at our local theater. It was a nice way to get with other people after the divorce (to not feel so lonely) and made a little change in the process. I tried Uber for a while but it didn't help much. I needed something that would keep me moving and occupied. Good luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/21 08:44 PM
It does get better promiseI was just curious because in all of your post you don't say you weren't cheating. Good luck! I hope everything works out for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/21 06:08 PM
It does get better promise… she claimed I was cheating and had no proof I fought like hell to try to save my marriage Had no proof? So, were you cheating? | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/21 04:31 PM
Are some married people truly ever happy?I think, like other, a small percentage of married men are happy. Most are probably just used to doing whatever they do each and every day. I married at age 18, was married for 37 years, now divorced for 6 years. Most of the married time I was happy. I enjoyed being with that person. Now, I enjoy (most of the time) being single. There are certainly times I wish I wasn't single, but those are very few. You are right, once you marry you give up everything. No more running off to Barbados, no more … | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/11/21 02:18 PM
I hate this life, how could she actually want this? How do I ever feel okay again?Just a little story I'm going to add. Yesterday my daughter (lives with me) said she and her son were going to meet her mom for a walk. I said enjoy your walk. They got in the car and drove off to the park. Moments later my ex drives up and I said that they left to meet her at the park. My ex left to go find them. Minutes later my daughter drives up and parks the car in the drive. Following her my ex drives up, parks, gets out of the car and says to me "why are you making my life hell?" Sometime… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/11/21 11:53 PM
Am I the only here who is seriously considering never marrying again even if I find my "soulmate"?Nope! Won't remarry ever. Will I have a lasting relationship? Probably. But no marriage in my future | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/21 03:03 PM
Am I the only here who is seriously considering never marrying again even if I find my "soulmate"?I was with you up until the last paragraph. "If the spark runs out, you can easily dump her". WTH? So are you saying it's not worth the work that a relationship might need? Once that spark is gone just walk away? Sounds like more interest is using her than anything else. Sometimes the best part of the relationship is to find where the spark went and re-light it if necessary. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/11/21 03:02 PM
