It's absolutely gorgeous! Lots of volcanoes all over the place. Cheap to live and amazing local food. I spent time in San Pedro la laguna and panajachel. I did a 2 week intensive yoga and meditation retreat there. Nothing but good things to say about the place. You can catch a quick bus ride to San Salvador/ Honduras/Mexico in 5 or 6 hours. Also beautiful places to visit if you get the chance would highly recommend.
