Except the people who write the proposals to give to the public never ask ""should men face harsher punishments than women yes or no"? Instead they propose "should our criminal laws take into consideration the unique challenges of women and decades of discrimination under which they have suffered and punish them in proportion to their historical agency and empowerment"? My state recently voted for a constitutional amendment that lets crime victims pretty much control criminal proceedings. The me…

"Patriarchy" is a quasi-religious ideology.

People do not understand the decades' long march of institutionalized radical feminism. They started by taking over academia. Through an initial message of inclusion and tolerance they were brought on, then shifting to parity/quotes, led them to dominate. Now they have enough institutional power to dominate and control/regulate academic thought. Allowable speech in academic institutions is increasingly narrow---and that ideology gets "taught" to students and then brought out into the workplace a…

E.g. women calling men useless failures for not doing shit only women care about. My ex wife was like this. "Her: well, aren't you going to send thank you cards?; Me: No, they are an unnecessary anachronism that no one cares about or expects." "Her: Aren't you going to create little gift bags for all his friends at the party; Me: No, we don't live in Hobbiton. I am already paying for his friends to be at the 'kidzone' and eat pizza, why do his guests need gifts. Its HIS party?"

Yes. I was in college 30 years ago. According to today's definitions, I was "raped" several times. Back then, we looked at it as learning to handle your liquor and making better choices about who you invited back to your room.

There is a massive disparity in opinion between those who simply read news stories about the trial and those who watched it.

I am going to be a voice of dissent here. There is a distinct difference between forcible rape of a stranger and waking your partner up with sexual overtures. Failing to make the distinction leads to absurdities, like a person in a relationship being deemed to have "sexually assaulted" their partner for a random slap on the ass or genital grab--neither of which are preceded by an overt request for consent--that would defeat the point. Now, if the partner says to stop it or they don't like it, th…

In my youth, I was rejected a lot for "being too nice;" "being like a brother"; "being too stable"; "being too caring."---all of which led me to believe that women prefer unstable assholes because they create drama and feelings.

I watched a lot of the Depp trial. I watched most of Rittenhouse. In both cases, what the media reported had absolutely zero relation to what the testimony/evidence was--in many cases, the exact opposite.

Boys are treated as defective girls. Schools are set up to cater to girls and ignore and punish boys. Average looking-shaped boys are bullied and ridiculed. They lack any confidence or social skills. Society tells them they are all toxic and rapists. Girls laugh at them and call them incels. Most have no father figures. They have no legit prospects in life. Many are on mood altering anti-depressants, which can make you lash out MORE and increase anger. They already have a ton of anger, hate, and…

A phrase which they think is a major travesty and failing of the justice system. Their "ideology" is a religion founded on the premises that 1) no woman ever makes a false allegation; 2) therefore, anyone accused is guilty and deserves to be punished; and 3) therefore, any impediment to a finding of guilt is "problematic" and needs to be remedied through changes in our justice system.

Yes. Civics teacher was ill one day--one of the few male teachers I had. He had the sub (female) administer the in-class project. Project was a complete surprise hypothetical pretending that the earth was going to blow up and we had a spaceship and hour to decide who was going to go to mars to form a colony, what was being taken, and what type of government. Most of the class wasted an hour "voting" on everything under the direction of the female "class president"--nothing was getting done; ever…

As someone somewhat recently divorced due to her infidelity, I can deal with the unfair court system, the financial pain, and the difficulties raising children post-divorce. I just cannot get over the sense of betrayal by my cheating ex, and the stigma from my family that I am the "bad guy" for "ruining the marriage", "giving up," and "letting my ego ruin the lives of my kids."

I am lawyer. This is accurate. The reality is that being a lawyer is a toxic and dehumanizing profession. Most women don't last five years in litigation or corporate work.--The vast majority switch careers to "public interest" or government work--and even then, the less stressful "compliance" type government work. Everyone that does last doing litigation or high stakes corporate (men and women) have substance issue or mental problems. Only a tiny percentage of lawyers wind up at big firms making…

But no one on this earth has the right to hold your decisions against you. What fucking drug is she on? Your own voluntary decisions are what define you and your character. You are the sum total of the decisions you make. If I am going to consider a LTR with someone, I sure as shit want to know the types of decisions she has made. Not only are they indicative of moral character but also evidence of propensity for risk-taking behavior, trustworthiness, and impulse control.

I am seriously concerned for my sanity when I read shit like this that uses words that are sort of English, but make no fucking sense when string together. It used to be simple--you were straight, gay, or bi-. No judgment here and to each their own. Females can use tons of makeup, hairstyling, and dress to "appear" to be younger. How many grey haired 45 yr olds do you see? Men, on the other hand generally don't have the time, resources, or inclination to get hair plugs, put on makeup, and rid themselves of crows feet, stress lines, or grey hair. 30s-40s men also wear beards these days which makes them look older. Yes. This dynamic was present with my ex. I DID stop doing certain chores because according to her, I was always doing them wrong. I don't dispute that. What I dispute is the intersectional oppression mantra that I am "privileged" by virtue of being a white male and have to spend my life "atoning" for my original sin.
/r/MensRights08/02/22 10:52 PM

Or maybe how "white privilege" elevated the life of a poor working class kid from shattered home and a shitty midwest town, where all the cops were corrupt douchbags and protecting the highschool football team (regardless of race) was the number 1 priority, and where teachers punished genuine curiosity. --Yeah, maybe the rich white dude who is quarterback of the football team had "privilege." Put to say poor nerdy schlubs whose parents were just factory workers had "privilege" is an insult.

I am not inherently "privileged" because I was born a white male. FULL STOP. I don't OWE anybody anything. FULL STOP. Those with wealth, power, and status have privilege--the ability to avoid legal repercussions for their actions, control (and ruin) others' lives, and enact laws to their benefit.

Lawyer here: In court sworn testimony constitutes "proof." Many cases involve nothing more than an allegation and a denial, and the jury decides who it believes. If the jury doesn't think your denials are credible, they can convict on nothing more than the complainant's testimony.

I was raped by a 16 yr old babysitter when I was 10. Performed forced oral on me when I had no clue what was going on; had my first panic attack; and felt horribly guilt afterwards. Also have suffered many sexual assaults by other men/boys. My advice: Shit happens; move on. Well, thats the rub of it... "I work hard, stay out of trouble, am well-grounded, manage my money well, and can provide a stable and lasting relationship and home where you will be treated nicely" does not get the panties wet. Similar story in high school. 16 yr old girl dating a 22 year old. Pretty much lived with him. Her parents knew and didn't care. I will only get ridiculed or attacked for sharing my experience; 2) sharing it won't change anything; 3) I refuse to be seen as a "victim"--I experienced some bad shit, I moved on---why is suffering sexual abuse in a different category than physical abuse, emotional abuse, or suffering any other kind of traumatic event?

Why do I want to "lead" others? I want to do my own thing and be left in peace.

Almost like part of "adulting" is recognizing that people don't always agree, people make mistakes, people get stressed and do dumb things, and life if better if we all just have thick skin and cut each other some slack.

Paygap has been disproven time and time again. There is zero paygap when accounting for subspecialties (trauma surgeon vs family doc/corporate trial lawyer vs divorce atty) in a profession, hours worked, and uninterrupted years of work. In other words, if you compare a man and a women who both are in the top in-demand area of their profession, both work the same grueling 60-80s+ hours, and both have been continuously employed for the same amount of time--there IS no pay gap. Its an earnings gap.…

Old ladies at law firms who have been there a while have slept with most of the partners they worked for. Get a few drinks in them at a company outing and its like releasing cats in heat.

And its not necessarily straight up groping genitals. Can't tell you how many times I have been at a bar and a female has squeezed my bicept or run her finger down my shoulder/arm. If a guy did that he would be thrown out of the bar and probably arrested for assault.

the whole point of statutory rape laws is that a underage teen doesn't have the mental capacity to "consent" even if he/she "thinks" they want it. Also, I thought the whole "well, it can't be rape because the victim got aroused" was shot down in the 80s. Guess that only applies to women.

I had a acquiantence on my fb page complaining about this. I responded: 1. I thought you didn't want to be objectifief?; and 2. Welcome to the life of an ordinary looking guy.' She blocked me.

I bummed a light off some late 20 yr olds outside the bar. I said thanks. They said 'no problem Dad.' I'm 40. Talk about ego hit.

Total player in my office gets divorced and starts screwing a colleague. She would tell all the other females that they were "dating." He would tell all the men that they were just fuck buddies and that he told her that. When she was informed of this, she did the "tee hee....Oh, that's just Jack, he will come around eventually."

As someone who suffers from depression, the biggest thing that helped me was to stop caring about what others think and stop looking for external validation. You self-worth is not dependent on your ability to attract a mate/partner. Read the stoics. Worry about what you can control/influence, and learn to give no fucks about the rest.

Different perspective. As a recent divorcee...man is not truly free if he is attached and lives a life of obligation, resentment, and mental abuse. Enjoy your freedom. Make peace with your solitude, and rejoicec that you can be whomever you want.

One of the reasons my marriage failed was due to this. Wife did not like me disciplining our daughter due to repeated hitting/refusal to do chores. At 6 years old she was still "just a baby."

My ex-fiance left to "be young, have fun, and live life." While the manosphere was not a thing then, I was not dumb and could read between the lines. Same deal. Her "fun" phase lasted about six months and she came crawling back being a trainwreck expecting to hit the rewind button and just pick things back up and go back to being engaged again.

My friend is one. Wife left him during pregnancy of third child after informing him child was not his. Up and split to be with some drug-addicted musician/skiing skool type. Why is it that men are now less likely to finish schooling? Combination of: Economics do not make sense from the standpoint of money in vs earning potential Having to sit through countless hours of being told you are inherently bad because of "privilege" and "patriarchy" Suffering through classes that encourage, promote, and require acceptance of victim ideology and emotional-based argumentation rather than traditional fact-based logical analyses Being one false allegation away from having your …

Its really, at its core, a police training and philosophy issue. The vast majority of officers in these situations are doing exactly what they are trained to do. The problem is that they see society as full of them (cops) and insurgents. Every citizen is a potential threat. They are indoctrinated as being "guardians" and taught to respond to non-compliance with increasing levels of force. They are not really taught de-escalation.

Also could do with the way our country treats grown women as children incapable of making their own decisions and having to face the consequences of such. Then when they get to college and make bad decisions, it has to be somebody's fault.
