| 2 | Did any of you have mental health issues as a result of your marriage or divorce? My ex was a BPD as well. 100% got sick all the time, constantly stressed, became lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant and developed seasonal allergies and multiple tendon injuries. Also had anxiety shoot through the roof to the point where I could barely work. And started losing my hair. Got divorced, went through therapy and now I rarely get sick allergies and food intolerances are gone and I sleep well at night without taking anything. Took about 2 years for it all to come together, but I fig… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/07/24 12:44 AM |
| 6 | Wife is financially and emotionally abusive. How do I get out?Flip the story and pretend you were the doctor working 1-2days/week. The courts would likely impune your income much higher (I.e - as if you were working 4-5 days/week) and you would pay a ton of child support and alimony. It the courts were fair this would happen for you. I doubt you will get what a woman would, but you will likely get a substantial amount with a good lawyer. Also - spend weekends with your kid. | 3 | OpinionYes - once she made up her mind it was done. Took me a lot longer to realize this however. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/23 11:42 PM |
| 11 | OpinionOne of the things about being divorced (or in your case separated) is that you get to do what you want now. It took me a long time to realize this and your story resonates with me. I’d encourage you to turn off location sharing and go for those drives. Taking care of yourself starts with doing the small things. Hang in there - it’s gets better with time. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/23 10:03 PM |
| 4 | Hiding evidence - Judge doesn’t careI’ve had similar experiences. It never got better for me, she just kept winning and never had to produce and documents. She bought a new house a month before a court date and “couldn’t find her mortgage application”. The house was too expensive to qualify for a loan based on her court accepted “income” everybody moved on from the unsubstantiated mortgage and I left feeling crazy. I’ve come to accept that as a man, I’m wrong and I will pay through the nose on everything while getting to be an eve… | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/23 09:26 PM |
