No joke, the leftist/SJW/male feminist side has the highest percentage of stereotypical neckbeards and smug hipster nerds I've ever seen of any group.

If you make your guy a sandwich or show him any kindness you're supporting the patriarchy! Men should be grateful that women choose to pay attention to them at all! /s

That guy was just socially awkward as hell, nothing to do with being a gentleman.

True, it varies from person to person. I know it's a popular trope that unmarried men past 40 are losers, so RP might be overcompensating by going a bit too far in the other direction with it.

I think it depends on area and societal expectations. I know older single guys who are having a good time, and also married guys who are miserable (family obligations, no sex, increasing pressure and criticism, lack of freedom and privacy, etc.)

"Any group that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots is in danger of being overrun by actual idiots who believe they're in good company."

You gotta love that feminist/SJW tactic where they take a guy who's bitter because he has no success at dating and saying that he has no success because he's bitter. Or they insult and taunt him until he pushes back and then they use that as "proof" that he's an asshole. I've seen both of these more often than I'd like.

I had my nice guy/white knight phase in my early 20s. Thankfully I grew out of it and began to see things as they really were.

Could be, but is that attitude something inborn, or is it a result of the way they've lived? To me, it's like a person with a full stomach telling someone who's starving: "Oh, quit complaining so much that you're hungry, it's annoying!"
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/15 08:43 AM

I think all guys have pretty much the same attitude. It's just that the naturally attractive and/or socially skilled ones generally get what they want so they have no reason to complain. The others wonder why this happens, so they get called 'entitled'. For what it's worth, I don't even believe most 'nice guys' are terribly entitled or believe women owe them anything. They just crave love and companionship like anyone else, and wonder why it doesn't happen for them. And for daring to express thi…

Agreed, but I think the OP was referring more to the phenomenon that women will rarely come out and say that nice guys are boring, and they'd rather be with an exciting 'bad boy'. Instead, they paint nice guys as being evil, manipulative (and yes, ugly) sociopaths in an attempt to rationalize their decisions.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/15 08:32 AM
2

Also you seem to imply feminist is a bad thing. Interesting. I was referring to the currently popular brand of first-world internet feminism, which mostly consists of snarkily mocking men/masculinity and finding things to be offended about.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/15 03:21 PM

I'm actually not a TRP subscriber. I think they have their problems, but to be honest I find TBP even more annoying with their smug circlejerky attitude. And I'm pretty sure TBP bans anyone who doesn't join in the pro-leftist, feminist, SJW circlejerk.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/15 01:35 PM
2

TBP also bans people for disagreeing, and even bans them for participating in certain other subs, don't they?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/15 09:07 AM
1

If anything, BPers sound more alike than RPers do. TBP sounds like an offshoot of SRS, same style of 'humor', same memes, same leftist feminist atmosphere. To say they have nothing in common aside from being against TRP is disingenuous at least.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/15 09:04 AM

So you could have just said "find people within your circles of friends/common outings", without the attitude.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 06:08 PM

I heard a lot of women say they're sick of guys trying to hit on them at bars, clubs, parties, etc. What's your take on that? Is it because they're genuinely not interested, or because they guy isn't attractive enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 08:36 AM
1

Those are some good ideas, but I think you have to be careful and nuance your approach so you don't become known as "that guy who joined the class/workshop/whatever just to meet girls." Plus if you show genuine interest and skill, it already increases your value. Solid advice, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 08:34 AM

From what I've seen it's more like "guys who are naturally good-looking and/or socially skilled have the right to everything, and the rest don't, so they should stop trying because it's gross and creepy."
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 08:28 AM
3

But how do you socialize if cold approaching is never okay? Wait be to introduced? You're contradicting yourself and failing at being snarky.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 08:27 AM
1

Heh. I could also say that on average, American women look like this, but it depends in what circles you travel.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/15 08:26 AM
19

But I thought women have much as much of a sex drive as men do, and the notions that men are more aggressive due to testosterone is a myth and a "stupid biotroof", at least that's what BPers usually say.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 08:08 PM
6

So in your opinion how do people meet and form relationships? Introduced by their parents? Should we bring back arranged marriages?

Wow. She sounds like someone you're better off without.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 06:41 PM

That's pretty much it. Gentlemen are seen as boring, while cocky assholes are "fun" and "exciting". Throw in good looks and a "cool" image and you're cruising.

it's my opinion that sleeping with multiple partners at the same time, especially if they are too, increases std risk? i think that's a fact. Not necessarily. If you're careful about partner choice, use protection and have regular medical checkups, the risk is negligible. i guess i do come from a culture that encourages monogamy or that is the norm. do you come from a culture that encourages polyamory? I wouldn't say encourages it, but it's not against it either. We're seeing a dissolution of th…

Well, that's just your opinion. I'm curious, do you come from a culture that's more traditional/encourages monogamy?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 03:25 PM

Sure, that can be fun. Why, it doesn't feel normal to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 03:13 PM

I think it's more to do with the post-starvation mentality. Like people who have been starving will be observed to eat more than they need and hoard food, or people who have been poor all their lives and suddenly gain wealth will try to spend it in showy ways, RPers sometimes exaggerate with the plate thing. But I don't believe that humans are necessarily meant to be monogamous, and seeing 2-3 people at the same time before you're ready for an exclusive relationship isn't always a bad thing.

people who want more than a certain amount of external rewards (and there is research on this) tend to have issues. so, i would say whatever amount has been shown to be a happiness peak (probably varies by study, and culture/city) is probably reasonable for people to strive for. I don't disagree with this. There needs to be a balance, sure. My point was that RPers, in the beginning, got little to no external rewards at all, that their basic desires for love, companionship, etc., were unfulfilled…

I think everyone has their own ideal life in mind, and it varies from person to person (and possibly throughout a person's lifetime.) Some might be happy with a minimalist existence, others might want more. Of those who do want more, would you say that those who are lucky/naturally skilled are right to get it, while those who aren't should stop wishing or trying?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 02:53 AM
1

if maximizing external rewards = having it made yes, but many people don't think maximizing external rewards is the end all be all of life. is it hard to you to fathom that some people, even with money, prefer a simple minimalist existence? Then you should be on top of a mountain, meditating on the mysteries of life, and let the rest of us unenlightened and narcissistic individuals get on with ours. :)
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 02:38 AM
1

imagine you thought the earth traveled around the sun hundreds of years before you or anyone could prove it. are you going to hide the belief for fear of loss of external rewards? for fear of being labeled crazy? un-mateable? If I had any sense, yes. I wouldn't want to live my life being seen as a crazy crackpot just for the sake of an unprovable belief. That's known as lacking social skills. or say you enjoyed living in small town more than a big city, but you noticed the more attractive girls …
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/15 01:44 AM
1

So let's move a bit more towards concrete examples. You say RPers are "external reward-ists", meaning in your view that they primarily chase external rewards rather than internal. Putting aside the question of which is better, how would you describe an "internal reward-ist"? What kind of person would they be?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 09:21 PM

Which is silly, honestly. Like I said, they're interrelated and both are important, even if people may value one over the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 09:19 PM

As a guy, I'd love a woman who could engage in intelligent arguments with me. I wouldn't like one who purposefully tried to make me look/feel stupid, but that's applicable to anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 08:04 PM
1

What is a 'good nature'? I think we're getting into abstract philosophical arguments here. Here's the thing, most of us want to feel loved. We want to feel appreciated, we crave attention and affection because we're social beings and this is what we're conditioned to do. These things are especially important at a young age, because they can shape who we become later. There's this prevailing opinion that Redpillers (and guys who are having trouble with women in general) only want sex, that they j…

agree or disagree that overall some people value external validation or internal validation more? and if so, where do you fall? Definitely agree, but there's no easy answer to the second part. Do you want a proportion, like 70/100? Let's say that's it for the sake of argument. Then what? which makes you more of a Pavlovian dog for external rewards than someone that has any real good or bad internal nature. I think all of us value external rewards to an extent. They can shape our sense of accompl…

I just said the values fluctuate and each depends upon the other. Do you have an argument to make, or are you just trolling?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 07:00 PM

I think the values fluctuate depending on your situation and personality. They're also interrelated, as each can have an effect upon the other. Does this line of questioning have a point?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 06:48 PM

I'm not sure how that follows from anything that I've written. Both are important to feel like a successful and accomplished person.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 06:31 PM

Ouch, that sucks. Some people are more comfortable living in the illusion they've created rather than face up to the reality that it's wrong, I guess.

I wouldn't say I was hardcore TBP, but definitely had Bluepill leanings in my younger years. I would be the typical white knight on forums, defending women's point of view, despising PUAs and anyone who was disrespectful or harsh with women (as I saw it), the whole nine yards. Still makes me cringe when I think about it sometime. Well-meaning parents, society and romantic movies had taught me that women are sensitive flowers that need to be loved and courted, and of course defended from brutish …

I think the awakening of a Red Piller can be likened to following 'the rules' and trying to be a good person your whole life with little to show for it, until one day you saw other people break the rules with a smirk on their faces, have fun doing it, and be rewarded for it more than you've ever been.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/15 04:46 PM
2

Could be. I was just responding to the oft-repeated statement that TBP is not the opposite of TRP, but rather just a loose congregation of folks who like to laugh at TRP. This is not entirely true, as the Bluepill sub as a whole has a fairly liberal, leftist feminist bent to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/15 08:54 PM

I think it's at the very least dishonest to claim that the majority of BP doesn't lean leftist/feminist, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/15 11:50 AM

Not said, but in many societies it's pretty much implied. Not only that, but there's outright hostility against those who aren't "naturals" at dating or flirting, like they don't deserve to learn or improve.

I remember seeing a sub breakdown a while ago that showed there was strong overlap between TBP and SRS (as well as /againstmensrights, /circlebroke and /subredditrama).

Doesn't TBP also ban dissenters?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/15 03:16 PM

Good satire is witty and funny. Your group is neither. At least TRPers try to improve themselves, while you people build yourselves up by making fun of them - no matter how you try to spin it. Besides, they're not entirely wrong about certain things.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/15 03:07 PM
-2

Sure, TRP has its share of extremists and people with problems, I don't think anyone denies that. But I still can't sympathize with people who essentially formed a group for pointing and laughing at them. At least TRP has the occasional good advice or interesting conversation, which is more than I can say for TBP.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/15 07:12 AM

Why absurd? Because they work and provide an alternative to loneliness? Sometimes I think you people don't want anyone to succeed unless they're naturals. Threatened by competition, maybe...

Not when your purpose is finding faults to mock in order to feel superior, anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 10:07 PM

So you admit to being nothing but a group of bullies. Anyway, seems like more and more are converting to RP. When you make fun of people trying to improve their lives and offer no alternative, don't be surprised when most people join the "other" side instead of your sad little circlejerk.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 10:04 PM

Doesn't TBP ban people who disagree with the circlejerk? How ironic.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:57 PM

If you couldn't care less, TBP wouldn't exist. Obviously you all do care.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:55 PM

TBP is a clone of SRS. You can't really expect them to contribute anything useful, they just want a place to circlejerk and feel superior.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:53 PM

Cool story bro.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:47 PM

Seems like it's mainly a smug circlejerk for criticizing and mocking TRP.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:42 PM
3

Either that, or they're really effeminate hipsters/nerds with no male friends, who hang around with typical geek feminist girls (think chubby, dyed hair, hipster glasses) and bitch about men. I've known a few guys like that in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 05:00 PM

You see quite a lot. With some of the younger Terpers anyway, the posts are much more pitying than mocking. Are we looking at the same sub? Because I've very rarely seen anything other than snark and mockery. Although the fact that you sympathize with SRS tells me a lot. TLDR: Empathy is what causes TBP to hate TRP. Sure, and ISIS is a bunch of decent religious folks trying to spread the message of faith and love to sinners.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 04:18 PM
2

I bet you do. Like naturally skinny, high-metabolism people going "I've never gone to the gym or dieted, and I'm doing just fine!"
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 04:14 PM
1

At least here there are interesting arguments from time to time. TRP has too many extremists while TBP is basically an offshot of SRS where dissenters get banned.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:11 AM
1

I think the best 'blue' quality is compassion or empathy. I'm assuming you mean 'blue' people in general, not TBP regulars. I'd characterize that place as heavy on the snark and circlejerking, and pretty light on empathy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 09:09 AM

You're one of those "just be yourself and you'll find someone right for you" people, aren't you?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/15 07:52 AM
8

I agree with this, I think many BPers are people who married their highschool sweetheart, or the first person who showed interest in them, etc., and now they consider themselves relationship experts. But deep down they're still insecure, which is why they need to create a space to circlejerk and make fun of TRP.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/15 09:14 PM
24

We don't know if he is embellishing or not, but I think his point is valid regardless. I've heard a friend of mine (real alpha, domineering type) say that whenever he reverted to a kinder, gentler persona, the girls became bored and restless. I've experienced it myself, getting far more positive female attention when I acted like a jerk who didn't care, than when I tried to be a nice guy. Not saying everyone else has the same experiences, but it does happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/15 07:22 AM

I rather prefer tall and well-built (curvy or athletic, not fat, but not skinny either) women myself. It's a personal as well as possibly a cultural thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/15 05:09 PM
2

AKA guys who break the rules with a smirk on their face and don't give a shit.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/15 03:05 AM
2

I agree with this. TRP has its problems, but at the core it's mostly guys trying to improve themselves and their 'game', whether that means personal improvement, attractiveness, being able to get and maintain a relationship etc. TBP is a smug circlejerk who makes fun of them for trying.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/15 03:01 AM
1

TBP is in the same category as /creepypms or /SRS, basically a circlejerk where they all get to feel smug and superior without putting much effort or thought into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/15 02:56 AM
5

I think that's a good analogy. People will often prefer food that's bad for your health in the long term as long as it's fun and it tastes good, making you feel good over the short term. Maybe dating works the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 07:50 PM
8

All these are questions young men need answering and blue pill says: just keep being yourself and keep creeping out girls... "So we can make fun of you for it." This is why I've never liked TBP. TRP has its faults and its less-than-savory characters, sure, but TBP is just a smug circlejerk with nothing of value to offer.

To be fair, in a romantic comedy that probably would've worked :) but yeah, that guy sounds obsessed. I think it would be the same way if the genders were reversed here. But I think we're talking about two different things here - guys who see themselves as 'nice and were friendzoned' and guys who are actually nice and have no luck in the romance department. I'm talking mostly about the latter. In fact, one of my pet peeves is when all guys who are socially unskilled and unlucky in love get paint…

Nice men who are also fun to be around and decent looking do as well as 'jerks' and 'bad boys' from what I've seen, and seem to attract more stable girls. That's not been my experience, unfortunately. It seems like it should be, but it isn't. Even the girls who settle for nice, stable men are secretly lusting after the bad boys and rebels even though they know it's not going to happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 05:32 PM

So the key is creating sexual tension? I've been observing the same thing, and I think it has to do with energy. Match her energy and be skilled at reading her and understanding what she wants. I think it's the second part most guys have trouble with.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 05:31 PM

The funny thing is, I've seen some of the geeky girls go after thugs. You never know. :)

I remember a line from The Simpsons, when Lisa tells Milhouse (a nerd who's had a crush on her for a long time) that he's like a big sister. I think it sums it up nicely.

We want James Dean like sexy on a motorcycle who makes our mom upset that we're seeing them because they are a bad influence. That has the ring of truth. Those guys are exciting, nice guys are boring. nice guys isn't really a thing, it's a label guys who are needy, clingy and boring give themselves. Could be, but do they necessarily have to be needy and clingy? What about regular guys who were taught by their mothers, by the media and by society that they're supposed to nice, polite, romantic an…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 05:20 PM

I can't speak for all of them obviously, but I actually had a specific example in mind - a guy I knew personally who was pretty much a cocky narcissist, did whatever he wanted in a relationship, treated women like servants, yet he was never more than a couple of weeks without a girlfriend. Many of them who also took care of him, cooked for him, supported him financially etc., until he got bored and dumped them.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 05:16 PM

So in the end we're back to the tried-and-true rules: 1) be attractive, 2) don't be unattractive. Fair enough. :)
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 04:52 PM
4

I don't mean spineless, I mean regular guys who have been raised and socialized to be nice, polite, gentlemanly etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/15 04:51 PM
8

This is why I've never liked TBP. It's always easier to sit on the sidelines and criticize than to offer anything constructive.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/15 07:54 AM
7

This is sadly true. One of my college friends who used to be a bit of a ladies' man only recently told me that he never got so much action as when he was acting like a selfish, cocky ass. When he tried "settling down" and being nice and gentlemanly, they all got bored of him. I guess everyone wants a challenge.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/15 07:49 AM
17

Be yourself and you'll eventually find someone right for you, women like men who are caring and romantic, be a gentleman, etc. The anger felt when realizing that none of these things are true is akin to what you would feel if you'd spent your whole life following the rules and doing "what you were supposed to" with little reward, only to watch someone else flout the rules with a smirk on their face, have fun doing it, and actually get rewarded for it more than you've ever been.

I've been trying to figure out why feminists hate "nice guys" so much - sometimes it seems that they get more hate and venom than abusers, than rapists even. The simple explanation that "they're dishonest" seems inadequate at best. The only logical conclusion (which others have shared) is that femininsts hate and despise weak, unmanly men, but they can't say this out loud because it goes against their espoused progressive philosophy. So they invent this stereotype of the "Nice Guy", giving him a…

I think it's a bit like asking people what's good to eat. A lot of them will talk about sensible choices, like lean meat and fresh vegetables, yogurt, stuff with vitamins, low-fat options etc. But in reality, when hungry, a lot of these people might reach for pizza, donuts, burgers or some other unhealthy, cholesterol-, fat- and sugar- laden fast food, because it's fun and it just tastes good. Same thing when you ask women what they look for in a man. In fact, the most logical strategy aside fro…

Of course, it's wrong to let attraction rule you. But here we're talking about men simply feeling a natural attraction towards women and acting upon it, only to be labeled as creepy and "only wanting to get their dicks wet" as if sexual attraction is a terrible thing unless you become soulmates with that person first. Ironically, it's my honest opinion that most so-called 'nice guys' actually want more than just sex - they want a relationship, and are trying to get it the way they've been told t…

It's not meant to get you laid. Because not everyone views women as merely a tool to get one's dick wet. And here comes the shaming language. Because attraction is creepy and wrong... as long as a man is feeling it. Right?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/15 02:54 PM

Do you usually bring up the subject of sex the first time you meet someone you're attracted to? If not, you are already open to accusations of being a manipulative "nice guy". This is what I'm saying, people who like to bash "nice guys" make no allowance for nuances or for guys who are simply shy/inexperienced. It often seems like to them, you're either a natural pickup artist, or a creepy and manipulative "nice guy".

The problem with this view is that logically, the only alternative is going up to a woman and saying "hey, I'd like to bone you." Anything else - being friendly, getting to know her better - can be interpreted as "being nice in the hopes of getting sex." And then you get the hate piled onto the "nice guys", the name-calling, etc. So what is the 'right way' to approach someone you have feelings for (or just feel attraction) and make those feelings known in the hope they'll reciprocate?

You seem to hold the belief than all regular people are saints in their day-to-day lives, forever doing selfless things for everyone around them and expecting nothing in return. So if someone does something nice because they like a person, it's somehow bad. I just don't think that's how the world works.

Yes, I get it. "Nice guys" as you define them, are dishonest about their intentions and are therefore worthy of scorn. But what about: Guys who are attracted to a girl and act nice and gentlemanly because they think that's how they are supposed to act, because their mothers, romantic movies, the media and society all tell them that's what they are supposed to do when they like someone? And yet, if they dare to feel angry when they realize it's all bullshit which doesn't work, they are immediatel…

The joke's on them, though. Not even feminist women find white knights attractive. For real dating advice I'd recommend David DeAngelo, or for the younger, more adventurous crowd, Mystery's stuff.

Honestly, I wouldn't go to Doctor Nerdlove (or even worse, Captain Awkward) for dating advice as a man. Both of them are heavily skewed in favor of feminism and shaming/mocking men and masculinity. They're more concerned with scoring points with the Tumblr feminist crowd than giving guys actual useful advice. There are far better resources out there.

Again, confidence makes you attractive. Cockiness, selfishness, and meanness just make you a jackass. And yet women seem to go for the "jackasses" quite a lot. Ludicrous tripe. Sexist and offensive toward men and women. Not in my experience. Are you going to provide any argument or just keep repeating variations of 'uhh, you're wrong because I say so.'??? Ludicrous trope. This is what quote-unquote "nice guys" tell themselves when they fail because it's easier than facing up to the truth. And th…

I'm not a TRPer so this might be an outsider perspective, but as I said, I think it has to do with taking this philosophy to extremes, much like radical feminists will say all men are rapists, etc. Maybe they've had negative experiences in the past which have tainted their world view.

I think this only applies to employees. Starting your own business, doing freelance work or investing (being smart with money), you can become relatively well-off in your 40s and 50s even if you were struggling in your 20s and 30s. I'm actually reading one of those "think like a rich man" books right now, and the author says at one point "better to be selling flowers on the street corner, but knowing that they're your flowers, your time and your income, than to work for someone else." I don't kn…

What's funny is that the TBP/SRS/AMR community (there's a lot of overlap there) meets more of the cult requirements than TRP.

Always ask yourself, "What would James Bond do". It's okay to have the mindset, but to be fair, James Bond has always been over-the-top. I was watching one of his movies recently (I think it was Quantum of Solace), he's in a hotel with this woman, he basically ignores her advice/recommendations and just does whatever he wants, she's kind of mad at him, next scene they're naked in bed together. I was just like "Oh, COME ON."

Both, I think. Friendships also often have a dominant/submissive or leader/follower(s) dynamic.

I think it's the basis for RP, and also one of the reasons I don't fully agree with it (being in control 24/7 is exhausting, and also not healthy). I don't think BP really has a philosophy, aside from just being against whatever RP is for. We can say BP stands for submissive beta men, which I'm sure some of them are, but in the end it's just a circlejerk at RP's expense.

The Simpsons was a comedy show, lots of things in it didn't make sense realistically. But yeah, basically Marge controlled the finances because Homer was too lazy/dumb/didn't care enough. Most often, though, the one who earns the money also decides how it gets spent. It's possible for a husband to bring home the money while the wife controls it (classic case of henpecked husband) but it's getting more rare, and I think you'd agree it's definitely not RP. Also: So it depends who is calling the sh…

What if the man calls the shots? I'd find that a very strange/unlikely scenario, but yeah, that would definitely be RP. Serious question: why does being in control of the finances matter more than being in control of the children/ home life? It's not that it "matters more", it's that whoever has control of the finances ultimately has more power over the family, its well-being and the direction it goes in. You could argue that the person in charge of raising the kids and taking care of the househ…

If the wife is the primary or sole income-winner, that means she also controls the finances while the husband is in a submissive/support role, so I'd say BP. But as long as they're both happy and satisfied with their lives, it shouldn't matter.

So what? Two threads, which are probably brigaded by the SRS/TBP crowd are supposed to convince me? Right which is why you browse a sub dedicated to sexual strategy. You're probably spinning plates as we speak And that's a bad thing because...? no reason to whine on trp about how "20% of men sleep with 80% of women". Never "whined" about anything of the sort. trp is full of sexual frustrated nice guys who think they're entitled to sex. Sexually frustrated, sure. Entitled? I don't know. Would you accuse members of a financial advice forum of "thinking they're entitled to money"? In the end, they talk about possible solutions to their problems. All TBP does, meanwhile, is cherry-pick quotes from RP and smugly circlejerk over them. Sorry, but you're not winning this popularity contest. Nice guys are always going on about how they can't get a girlfriend, and how much they deserve one, much like trp. TRP is actually about how to remedy these issues. At most, there are some former "nice guys" there. TBP, on the other hand, is a circlejerk composed of feminists and white knights. It's no accident that there is a large overlap between TBP, SRS and AMR.

Wrong. RP is focused on self-improvement, so it can't be "nice guys". "Nice guys" are the ones who jump to women's defense at every opportunity and make fun of the "dudebros" and "misogynists" so they can score points with women. In other words, most of BP.

I've seen quite a few examples of very good-looking girls and women getting together with chubby or just average-looking guys - more so than the reverse. These girls definitely did not have to 'settle', so I'd say there is something else at work here. It's probably personality, assets (i.e., money and success) as well as that undefinable 'type' that everyone has.

Sometimes they can be delusional, sometimes they exaggerate things, agreed. But the core of their beliefs is basically sound, even though I'd extend it to both men and women (i.e., people in general are shallow and self-serving, you need to work on and improve yourself first and foremost, don't take no shit from anyone) etc. TBP, on the other hand, is just a lazy and smug circlejerk with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The SJW community in general (SRS, AMR, TBP and so on) seems to have a kindergarten-level sense of humor. Either because their extreme political correctness won't allow them to say anything else, or because that is their actual level of maturity - it's anyone's guess.

Futrelle is a fat neckbearded white knight who is totally obsessed with MRAs, spending 80% of his time scouring their sites and forums in order to pick quotes that he and his 10 followers can circlejerk over at his blog (the other 20% he posts pictures of cats and heaps praise upon feminists). a strong, confident & independent woman that wants her man to take charge. Actually, that sounds like a fairly common viewpoint. It's possible to be strong and independent and still want your partner to be confident and take charge, at least occasionally. Nobody likes a wishy-washy doormat, but neither is it healthy to be in a relationship where everything is a conflict or a power struggle.

She was surprised by how often men seem to treat sex it as a base need that had to be fulfilled, rather than something particularly enjoyable for its own sake. I have noticed this as well, and I'm wondering whether it's something ingrained or taught by culture/society. I guess it depends who you ask :)
