Nothing wrong with children having confidence or feelings of worth. The problem is, they've been building up girls for the past couple of decades, while largely ignoring boys. The most telling stat - "86% of the victims of female sexual predators aren't believed, so the crimes go unreported and don't get prosecuted." People are taking exception to the usage of 'real men'. Nobody likes it when people try and define what a real man is. It's implying that men who don't seek therapy are somehow less of a man than those who do. If a male author said the same thing, he'd be getting flack here, as well. That's an interesting take on it. It actually looks like she's kicked him out of the house and he's in the process of picking his stuff up to leave. She tells him to take whatever he wants, but I guess that excludes his TV, because she prevents him from taking it and decides to swing at him when he tries.
