Complex and effective solutions that take years (or even decades) to get visible results don't get you re-elected. It's as simple as that. That's the vicious circle of democracy: it's awesome when all the citizens and voters are smart, well educated and don't just gobble all the lies and BS thrown at them. It's pretty bad however when most of the voters are idiots that are easily manipulated. How do you fix the problem? By educating people and making your voters smarter... but that would mean sh…

"Good luck factoring in quality of education to level of education attainment." Hahaha! Yes, that sounds extremely tricky, bordering the impossible. I'm from Europe and I've studied both in France and in Sweden. The system in France is quite harsh and very elitist. There are affirmative actions but as I said "once you're in, you're in" at least in the long run (people that get in that way might get more support at first, which makes sense). There are affirmative actions, yes. But once you're in, you're in and you get the same education. I don't see your point. Or are you claiming that ivy league universities give better grades to blacks? That the committee during a PhD defense is nicer to a black person?

I mean... adjust the data for income and education level and then we can talk I guess. I'm quite sure the racial aspect is MUCH less impactful on such a model than the socio-economical aspects.

Conflict of interest. I would actually trust more my best friends because they are no nonsense and will tell me the harsh cold truth even if it hurts. A partner might sugar coat things and beat around the bush too much (especially women because that's how they are raised and how they socialize from an early age).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
