Morality is a thing in its own. God is yet another concept. Nietzsche made the distinction, it's there, there's no going back. Human morality and belief in god do not correlate. Even if organized religion and its practices might artificially create a higher concentration of people aware of moral quandaries that won't stop them from committing immoral acts, given the occasion.

The way I see it morality has a whole lot more to do with calculation and primal impulses rather than emotion. You sound young. The almost universally shared baseline I mean is: "Given the opportunity and no consequences at all for you would you kill an innocent 5 year old child for the hell of it?" I'm agnostic. Morality transcends religious beliefs. It's rather a human thing in its own, it can be studied even in primitive tribal societies with little to no sense of the divine. Plenty of faithful believers who've done morally despicable or even atrocious things, in the name of god even. The question is "Is man moral or rather not?" The answer appears to be "depends on the circumstances" as highlighted before.
