I would say it's actually the opposite- look up the male gaze vs. The female gaze. What you're describing as the female gaze is more like the gay male gaze, which is basically the same as the straight male gaze but the gender of what's viewed is flipped. The gaze itself has similar attributes, showing a commonality of the viewer: maleness. You don't even have to be gay, because this is what straight men will imagine attraction to men feels like. I do think that men have a deep understanding of t…

As a woman: I agree. There are a lot of physically attractive guys- unless you're unusually handsome I won't even notice you. I assume guys are somewhat different, but to women just seeing an attractive person means nothing to us. Because you're a stranger, we will not make something more out of the situation than we need to, and that means that the most men, whether handsome or not, will actually be treated like a stranger. It's only through interaction that we can consider any other possibilit…

THIS. I have an idea that even our ideas of femininity are rooted in classism. The only women who were "docile and frail" in olden times were women who were so powerful socially that their demeanor could be fragile. I'm sure you've heard of the Princess and the Pea? She was the ideal daughter-in-law because her bitching about a freaking pea show's how spoiled and sheltered and luxurious she was. Many people at that time slept on the freaking floor. Are jewels, beautiful dresses, extensive groomi…

I have a lot to say, but overall I'll say you're reasonable except for the "lighten up on the creep shaming" thing. It doesn't matter that many men are good, if there's enough bad men that we're constantly worried about our safety in ways men don't. Also, look uo the sexual overperception and underperception bias. When women are harassed, we're blamed because we "should have known" but we actually don't know. So now we compensate for our underperception by being on guard, but that means we're lo…

Women have different personalities. I don't speak for all of them, but many of them do want the vulnerability. I will say, however, that "mean girls" have a way with trapping men that most girls see right through and can't do anything about. I'm not a female incel bitching about female Chads either. If we're both under agreement that women have more emotional intelligence, we can conclude that there must be a subset of women who use these skills to terrorize others, because women are people and …

"Women are so..." No man, the problem isn't with women. We are not the ones who created or enforced a system where men don't understand bondaries and nuances and how to engage in human interaction that they can't talk to women. Women generally have no problem talking to, getting along with, and relating to different is types of people, while men struggle with interacting with women as people. There is female priveledge, and that is being socialized in a way to explore the feminine traits of "emo…

He definitely proved a point that even I can relate to, because I've observed everything that he describes in many guys, and I've been the girl allowing myself to be flattered. My point still stands. If you can't be friends with any girl on Earth, you don't see women as friend material becuase you're sexist. You obviously value men as friends. I'm open to a rebuttal of this point. There's men on this thread who say they have has mixed gender close friendships, so it's possible. Also, notice how …

Opps, I meant that as a reply for someone else. Your idea of masculinity seems more down-to-earth and approachable. I'm okay with that. I agree with what you're saying. I imagine "hypermasculinity" to be a caricature of a more natural masculinity. When men are pretending, they become that caricature.

That actually makes a lot of sense!! If there is a "game" to a woman's seduction, it's not to get some man to sleep with you. Maybe it's too level up to something higher- a bombshell or femme fatale, someone like Cleopatra, Angelina Jolie or Marilyn Monroe.

If you can't be friends with a women when you can be friends with a guy, you're too sexist to see women as "friend material."

Yup, you're on point. Women will complain that they don't want to be their man's therapist, but contrary to what these macho men think you should actually tap into your emotional side more. The reason men can get so bae emotionally is a lifetime of repressed emotions. The stuff you tell us isn't inyerpreted as "too emotional" or "weak," it's obvious stuff that we've learned to handle through processing emotions through anyone who'll listen, while you're scared of sharing emotionally except with …

As a woman, consistant hypermasculinity is a tuen off. I think the problem is, unlike modern women, men don't get to play around with their gender expressions, and without experimentation in a certain field things you're awkward at it. So while women can acg appropriately for the situation, men go to awkward extremes.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
