Often times people see abuse from a woman as not a big deal because the guy "can handle it." Had a friend that was a very large guy with a very tiny girlfriend. You're awful optimistic. We live in a world where both men and women will leave a spouse when one gets a chronic illness. Leaving when they are accused of this I think would happen fairly often.

That is what I was thinking of as well. I've known men that have given up careers that would have taken them away from their children. The world still sees custody battles as the mom is always the best one to care for the kids despite many cases that contradict that. So it filters down to these cases as well. Mom us a role model becomes more important than a child being close to both parents. It is ridiculous.
