There is no such thing as "deleting a wallet" or "deleting an address', its impossible. The closest thing you can do to deleting a wallet is simply forgetting about it and getting rid of your private key by burning a piece of paper or something haha. Everytime you make a transaction it will get recorded on the blockchain forever and anyone can see it. If OP sends 25 btc to a empty wallet, that wallet will say that those 25btc are coming from and address containing 175btc, with the time and date …

Too bad that if someone investigated a bit thru, it's extremely easy to see that 25btc were sent from an address containing 175btc, and of course the time and date of the transaction are permanent on the blockchain. This could put OP in trouble by trying to hide his main stash :/

yes, but the debate is if he should tell her or not. Bitcoin is extremely interesting in this aspect as there is absolutely not way for his wife (or the governement, lol) to know he owns 200btc, unless he speaks out about it.

Ah, I get your point, the price of btc is speculative so nothing is 100% sure until you cash out - but based on the same logic, why would people go around saying they have 2 million dollars, if the value is gonna decrease in the coming years due to inflation? This guy does not have 2 million dollars, but has an asset that can be traded in a few hours for 2 million dollars, right in this second.
