I'm a bit taller than you and while I don't portray myself as a fragile being, I still get nervous walking near men who I get a creepy vibe from. In some cases, men see my height as a threat to them. It's pathetic.

You're absolutely right. And while they do not protect against disease, the STD panel is incomplete. So many people are carriers of herpes and HPV WITHOUT KNOWING it. So, these losers will say their clean when they are not because it's literally impossible for them to know their true status.

Um, I would argue that paying attention to your needs is actually paying attention to his needs and your needs being met is a side-effect of him satisfying his ego of being "good in bed."

I'm a 40-year-old woman who doesn't date below or at my age range. Even when I was 25, the thought of a 25-year-old man depressed me. They don't get better.

What people should be doing is not shaming people (i.e. jokes, etc) about catching a disease and realize that sex comes with risk and that STD's happen more than people think. The problem is that for the most part, preventing STD's comes with making men wearing condoms or abstaining. Men tend to be giant babies and want to go raw as soon as possible. I wish they had a HPV test for men and they should make the connection between HPV and sex more clear. I think HPV is waaaay scarier than the clap …

It's a tough call. As someone who has HSV2, there's a lot of hypocrisy in STD shaming because of rampant ignorance. Sure, there's lots of STD's that have dire health effects. But so does hypertension, the coronavirus, the flu. Does anyone shame people for getting the flu?

As someone who has HSV2, I struggle with this ALL of the time. The real problem is lack of widespread testing and shaming. Oral herpes [mouth cold sores], which more than half the world's population has, can be transmitted genitally. Most people don't disclose that they have had cold sores. I've never had a guy disclose this to me, but people run for the hills when I tell them I have HSV2 and am on medication even though if they've slept with more than four women in their life, statistically, so…

I, personally, have many male platonic friends. I don't believe the myth that men and women can't be friends. Have these guys thought about crossing the line? Sure. Had I thought about crossing the friendship line? Sure. Did it happen? Some yes and some no. Many of them have girlfriends. It doesn't bother me at all that they are with someone else. I have no interest in breaking up their relationship. I think not having female friends is why LVM and NVM are so prevalent. Men live in an echo chamb…

I have herpes and it's soooo not empowering. However, it's empowering because you get real good at rejection. For the record, I've been with so many men that don't even know that much about STD's. Educate yourself and vet the fuck out of men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 03:09 AM
1

No, you're mad that I called you out. The problem with Herpes is that people are ignorant of it. Literally more than half the world has it but it's shamed by society. It's not on a standard panel, so most people who have it don't know they do. So it creates a false sense of confidence.

It's just creating naive women who fall into this bullshit and then act shocked Pikachu face that not every woman in the world is out for their best interest. I would like to add that the concept of marriage is given too much power. Marriage is another rung put on the patriarchy ladder for women to climb up to be deemed worthy of life. You can have beautiful wedding. It's a party. But nobody really cares about your marriage at the end of the day when it's over. It's a meaningless trophy that signs you up for a full-time bangmaid job.

I wish I was 15 years younger. I'm sure he's so much greater than the underwhelming fifty-year-olds out there. The only thing they have in common is that he is most likely at the maturity and emotional level as a young girl's peers. The most interesting thing about it is that you automatically assume somoene who is 50 years old would act with the maturity of a 50 year old. Someone who does an important job. Someone with responsibilities. But they aren't up to speed. They are literal children.

You seemed so convicted in your post about implicating criminals as being idiots, tho!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/03/20 11:46 PM
6

So your threshold for being a criminal is being caught not breaking the law? The definition of crime is: : an illegal act for which someone can be punished by the government It's not consequence of the illegal act that makes you a criminal. It's the illegal act. You commit a crime makes you a criminal. I would also like to see some empircal evidence (not just your opinion) demonstrating a low intellegence in convicted criminals.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/03/20 11:42 PM
1

So you've never sped on the highway? EVER? Broken any law? EVER? So by your logic, someone who is convicted is a criminal therefore the act of conviction causes an intellect drop? Hmmmmm...Explain this to me..
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/03/20 11:33 PM
7

I don't have any empirical data to support whether or not criminals are smart or not. Do you? My dad was brilliant but had other issues. Another point is what you do call smart, ya know? Some criminals do crimes to survive. Some criminals are white collar criminals who have to be smart to pull scams. Some criminals are people who text and drive. So at the end of the day, it's not about intellect it's about willingingness to take a risk for whatever reasons. Have you ever sped on a highway? You'r…

One point of distinction my father was a criminal and he was very, very smart. He just didn't care. Intelligence has nothing to do with caring. Saying they're mentally incapable to comprehend their behavior gives them a free pass. Men don't deserve free passes.

I've experienced several of these situations multiple times with different people. It's incredibly terrifying when you clearly say no and a man who is considerably stronger than you doesn't stop. At some point, disease becomes an existential issue. There are viruses. it's a part of being human. Not all viruses are going to kill you. We are tought to fear things like bacteria and shit from corporations, but there are good bacteria. People douse themselves Purell, but what Purell does is kills the good bacteria making it easier for the bad to survive. At the end of the day we are humans full of virus, bacteria, and all that gross shit everyone wants to hide away.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/02/20 08:49 PM

Sure, but in my experience people have this binary assumption about STDs. They go get tested and proclaimn their cleanliness but it's more nuanced than that. For example, there are several different strains of HPV. Much like differnt types of herpes. One strain of HPV can cause warts, some strains are harmless. Zooming out, we are humans and humans carry diseases. STD's are particulary stigmatized because of the shame around sex. Nobody walks around making flu jokes like they make STD jokes.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/02/20 05:06 PM

Right, so it breaks the logic of "knowing who I got it from".

I have herpes and the shame is actually a bigger, deeper issue than everyone thinks. If you waltz over the Herpes subreddit you will see newly diagnosed people in deep depression and kill themselves. They think their life is over. Why? Because they caught a disease that most people carry some form of. Why? Social stigma. In my case, I very rarely have to treat the physical symptoms of herpes at all. I've had few outbreaks over 20 years. The psychological effects of being a sexual pariah? Severel…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/02/20 02:28 PM
14

As someone who got an incurable disease from an ONS at 21, I concur with this. Always demand condoms. But note: Most STD panels don't test for Herpes or for men, HPV.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/02/20 02:21 PM

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/02/20 05:37 AM

Right, I get that, but to word it as an "inability to orgasm" makes it sound like herpes makes incapable of having an orgasm. Big difference. She honestly shouldn't be having sex during an outbreak anyway.

I have herpes and I know people have some issues, but I've never had an inability to orgasm. I've never heard of that as a symptom. Do you have a source? And your right, the stigma is the worst part. This video is very informative: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU4VcOQzQm0&t=12s

This was an all-around suspect encounter, but he's kind right. Having herpes, the worst part is the social stigma. I have had maybe 3 breakouts in the last twenty years, but have suffered far more stress and anxiety from the rejection of having the disease. The fucked part is that more than half the population has type 1, commonly known as cold sores but can cause genital herpes, and add on the 1 one out of 6 that has type 2 which are generally genital herpes BUT, only 80% of people that have it…

Yes and no. From my understanding, you can't intentionally infect someone. But more than of the population has HSV1 per the WHO. HSV1 is commonly called cold sores. But people don't make the connection. HSV1 can cause genital herpes. I have HSV2. I disclose and you'd be surprised how many men don't know about it and have never had the conversation. Why? 80% of the people that have it don't know they don't.

From the CDC: Can I get tested for HPV? No, there is currently no approved test for HPV in men. Routine testing (also called ‘screening’) to check for HPV or HPV-related disease before there are signs or symptom, is not recommended by the CDC for anal, penile, or throat cancers in men in the United States. However, some healthcare providers do offer anal Pap tests to men who may be at increased risk for anal cancer, including men with HIV or men who receive anal sex. If you have symptoms and are…

More importantly, they probably don't care about your sexual health. Common STD tests don't have all of the diseases on there like Herpes. HPV is another. I have herpes and it's a shitshow, but I'm more terrified of HPV because it can cause cancer. Demand better. No raw dogging it for randos. Don't let losers convince you its a numbers game. It's a luck game. I got HSV2 from the third guy I slept with. The guy I got it from said, "he forgot".

This the perversity of the stigma, oral herpes can transmit to the genitals, so technically oral herpes is genital herpes: "Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by two types of viruses. As someone who has HSV2 and has had it for decades, I commend this. The biggest problem with herpes is the stigma. I find it really odd that they would test for herpes and gonorrhea. Herpes is not usually on an STD panel. The CDC doesn't recommend it unless you are symptomatic. This is why 80% of people that have it don't know. So, to get tested, you have *ask* for it or maybe you'll get an eager doctor. It seems strange they would just arbitrarily choose those two. I would demand the results. Better yet: RUN. RUN. RUN. RUN. RUN. There's too much shadiness here.

From the horses mouth: Genital herpes is common. Why doesn’t CDC recommend testing everyone for this STD? CDC does not recommend herpes testing for people without symptoms. This is because diagnosing genital herpes in someone without symptoms has not shown any change in their sexual behavior (e.g., wearing a condom or not having sex) nor has it stopped the virus from spreading. Also, false positive test results (test results that say you have herpes when you do not actually have the virus) are p…

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Generally, you can't intentionally pass an STD. But you have to prove intent. Herpes is a common common disease. The CDC does not recommend testing for it on a regular panel. 80% of people that have herpes don't know they have it. Here's the stats: More than 50% of the human population has HSV1 (aka mouth cold sores). HSV1 can be transmitted to genitals meaning cold sores---->genital herpes. 20% of women have HSV2 many people are asymptomatic. But, becaus…

For me, I don't value texting as much anymore cuz texting is cheap. I once new a guy who was joking that the had to send five good morning texts to five different girls. I think this is a weird topic and sets up some unrealistic expectations. There are moments in life you are not with your phone. It's unrealistic to expect a text right way. Not insanely good role models. My mom divorced my dad early so he wasn't around the house but she was a single mom and took care of 3 kids. He's not perfect, but he doesn't hate women. I've pushed him into therapy. Honestly, the reason why he isn't a loser is that my mom held it together and maintained the household. My dad was like an intermittent shitty acquaintance.

Sure, I have my problems but it's not necessarily something that is terrible. I pay my bills. I'm kind to people. I'm beautiful. I'm getting graduate degree at a top school. I would put relationship with their dads on a low point of the scale. There are many things that can fuck up a person that aren't their parents especially dudes that don't deal with their emotional issues. What if an uncle molested them? What if his mom is rager? The danger with this thinking is that a person with a "seemingly great dad relationship" is put on a higher pedestal than the other one. Without being a therapist or someone who witnessed their upbringing, you can't hang your hat on a r…

I think it's dangerous to make that wide assumption. My dad was a shithead, beat my mom, and my brother is a good dude who cares about his wife and kids. That's a great question. I supposed have a different perspective on people because of life experience. My dad was a criminal. "Is oral sex more prevalent now than it was about 30 years ago? It seems unlikely that this practice has been invented by current youth, as occasionally portrayed by the news media, since ancient texts, including the Kama Sutra written between the 1st and 6th century ad, describe it. However, the concern about pregnancy among adolescents and about HIV among men who have sex with men may have tipped the balance in favour of this behaviour. In a peculiar way, abstinence proponents may have helped,…

Think about it. If your body is producing antibodies, it does not do it in a vacuum. "Anti" means against, so it has to have something to fight. Oral sex is a risk. It's always been a risk: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2564733/

Not thinking you have herpes is different from having been tested and verifiably knowing. Legally, I am required to tell people I have herpes. It should be legally required that everyone get tested as well. I've had the blood test three times. All three times have tested positive for hsv2. I know there is some unreliability, but I don't think it's as unreliable as you think: Serologic, or blood, testing allows us to screen individuals for infection with herpes simplex. I understand why you wouldn't want to, but plausible deniability is irresponsible. From what I understand, F2F relationships tend to be better off with STDS, but oral herpes is extremely common and genital HSV1 is on the rise. Anyway, plausible deniability is dangerous. Say you're a MGTOW dude who goes with his bro to Planned paren…

Physically, it's a nonissue. But in my experience grown, 40 year old men are shocked and confused by it when I disclose which leads me to believe that nobody is talking about it. So it's easier for them to drop me and go with the next girl who has a very good chance of having it and not know it. Plausible deniability is a dating strategy. Ugh.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/19 04:38 PM

You're right, HSV1 hangs out orally mostly, but can be transmitted genitally. So technically, by societies moralistic standards, you would need to disclose to every partner that this could be transmitted to their genitals. Is that ridiculous? Absolutely. Do people do it? No, because they think it's the "good herpes."
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/19 04:36 PM
12

The dude that gave me herpes didn't tell. Condoms aren't a 100% effective with herpes. Honestly, most people have herpes. Chickenpox=herpes, Cold sores on the mouth=herpes. Cold sores on the mouth can be transmitted genitally. But people don't know this shit. Standard usually panels don't test for herpes. The worst part about it? The stigma. I got it from the third guy I slept with and now am a sexual pariah.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/12/19 05:28 AM
27

Not that I'm advocating his behavior, but it's not as uncommon as you think. There's lots of people who do not disclose herpes. There's lots of people who have herpes and don't know it. There is a *severe* information asymmetry about STDs in this country.

It's a gray area. I mean, there's a million ways to read it. I think it sounds passive though. It's not, "I want to see you, I had Sunday open" but it reads, "I had Sunday open, I guess you'll do." While the overall impression is low, more data points would have been helpful.

As someone who has to have the STD talk very, very early in a relationship, it is very shocking how little men know about safe sex. Hi. I'm starting over in life and I'm ten plus years on you. So, I can totally relate. The glaring issue is that you think that your *age* is what makes you high value. I understand that ageism is for real in this country, but being 21 does not make you a high value woman. I have to constantly deprogram myself from that lie. They already expect it as a standard. I don't text men first A LOT and they end up disappearing. Is there a balance?

QUESTION: If we are not supposed to show any effort (no texting first, no chasing), how do you actually show interest?

I've been aggressively hit on at bars and I had to call the bartender over because my "I don't want to talk right now. Please leave me alone" is not good enough. They don't understand what happens when you put a "n" and a "o" together.

What's the most irritating part is that it's a skin condition that most people have and usually doesn't cause problems. I just happen to know. Society screams "you should disclose" but that's making the assumption that we're playing on a level playing field. I could not say anything and guy would most likely, never ever know. HPV is no joke.

This doesn't not happen very much. I have genital herpes. One out of four women have it. I disclose to all my partners. Many of which (older men with lots of experience) are surprised at my disclosure and I've never had a man disclose to me. Why? Because most STD panels don't test for herpes. Someone can think they are negative, but can by asymptomatic. 80% of people who have it don't know they have it. It's very common. Cold sores=herpes. Chicken Pox = herpes. HPV is far worse for women if it's…

I have many, many friendships with men. Some of them started out as dating. Some of them I rejected, some them rejected me. Some of them were just friends. Coming from someone what many male friends, t is entirely possible to have men as friends. Does sex get involved? Sometimes. Sometimes not. But, it's an interesting experience to work through the social conditioning. Dating triggers a bunch of bullshit issues because we play games and get egos involved. Don't get discourged. Figuring out the bad behavior and chucking these guys is the steps to finding a decent catch. Most men just want something to talk at so they feel heard when they bitch about their exwives and to fuck. Realizing this lets you get rid of them quicker when you encounter them. You should celebrate. You've won.

Arguably, at some point you will be at this advanced age. So, I would check your perspective. Sometimes, you want someone who knows how to seduce a woman with time-honed skills. I'm not saying marry these dudes, and you have to find the ones that seem invested in pleasing a woman. Most men 40 under (that I've slept with) are boooooooooooriing. Having sex with an older male, who you know has done his homework is an event. Don't let age fool you.

I would argue that men with money and status are not good indicators of "high value men." Most are just moids with stethoscopes, trial briefs, multiple hit singles, can fly jet planes (I've dated all of these.) They're not special. They can just afford to *look* special.

To quote Lizzo, "Why men great till they get to be great?", men get assigned superiority before actually doing something worthy of the credit. So, when you don't lockstep with them, they can't handle it. But, they're weak and gushy inside. They rarely get tested aside from the occasional bar fight. Case in point. I don't think it's terrible advice at all. I didn't say low value men don't know. My argument is that it's pointless to emptily delete/block a man. Don't completely disregard someone who has had a harder life than you. They are IMHO more wise and harderworking.
