Alimony laws vary widely from state to state. The same marriage can result in no alimony in one state and a lifetime of alimony in another.

Is that really a meaningful statistic though? Being underaged certainly doesn't preclude you from having sex without your partner's consent.

but there is data! Not that is reliable. It's not reliable because a large majority of rape accusations end up as "non determinable".

if you have any data That's my point. There is no reliable data about false rape accusations. You're the one that made claims based upon unreliable (or non-existent) data, not me. I've made no claims whatsoever, beyond "we don't know".

to be clear, are you arguing that it is more likely that someone will be falsely accused of rape on a date than they are to be raped or to commit rape? I'm saying that it is ridiculous to make any claim about rapes vs. false accusations because there is no reliable data to support any meaningful conclusion. So, no, I am not saying it is more likely that someone will be falsely accused of rape on a date than they are to be raped or commit rape. I'm saying I don't know; and neither do you.

pegs the figure at being in the single digits for false accusations. Faulty information. How do they determine which reports are actual rapes and which reports are false accusations from the population of reports received? Around 1%-2% will be proven to be rapes in a court of law. Around 1%-2% will be confirmed to be false accusations based upon evidence obtained. The other 96%-98% in the middle become indeterminable. They might be rapes, they might be false accusations. Therefore, the proven fa…

So you only consider it a false accusation if it is reported to police and the police and/or prosecutors find irrefutable evidence that the report is false. Got it, but I think you might be missing a fair number of false accusations with that defnitnion. You're just rattling off numbers and guess. So I repeat, source?

For the same reason the civil rights movement was, by necessity, anti-KKK.

Florida? C'mon, man. They just got rid of lifetime alimony a few years ago. You're still screwed if you're in a long term (over 17 years) marriage.
/r/MensRights20/06/25 03:11 AM

If that were the case, men would be interchangeable I'm not sure what point you're making here.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 09:12 PM

There are certainly women who are the exception and genuinely like men. Most of what you see as women desiring men though is women desiring the benefits (financial, social or security) that they believe being connected to a man gives them.

You don't want to be settled for? You don't want duty sex? Then become attractive! Go to the gym, dress well, shave your stubble and trim your mustache and beard. Develop personality traits that women find attractive because our sexual attraction depends on personality to large extent. I am not convinced that these are things that will make the average young man attractive to the average young woman. I'm not convinced that there is anything that the average young man can do to make himself attra…

I think that most people agree that rape is sexual activity without consent. I think where the disagreement comes from is the definition of "consent".

experts fear the 'femcel' equivalent - where influencers from around the world encourage other women to maximise their feminine prowess to manipulate rich men into relationships - is just as dangerous. Women have been doing this for decades without the need for "influencers" to explain it to them. Do today's young women not already understand this? It'd be like a young man not understanding that he needs a job - or at least job prospects - if he wants a woman to have a romantic relationship with…

Why would your spouse want to listen to stories about your troubled past? How does that benefit her or improve her life?

It's staged. If you look at her youtube page, she's married and that guy is her husband.

I know nothing about the case. Just heard something about it yesterday for the first time. Don't even know what the accusation is. But Connor McGregor seems like the type of guy who has done some shitty thing in his life - to both women and men. So if someone is accusing him of doing something shitty, I'm probably going to default to believing it.

Trump won because more people believed lies about Kamala Harris than believed the truth about Donald Trump. The messaging change, however, should be very easy for the Democrats. They just need to start repeating: "Bigotry is bad, and that includes bigotry towards men". It's really that simple. Bring men under the umbrella. They've already got a monopoly on declaring that bigotry is bad. They just need to start saying, and demonstrating, that that includes bigotry against men. The problem is that…

Since it was his ex-wife, it sounds like something that was negotiated as part of the divorce settlement. Most likely, she got more cash up front in the divorce settlement than what she would typically be entitled to and that excess cash was essentially prepaid child support.

The really dumb part is voting for Trump because of the economy.

It has nothing to do with not voting for a woman. There was one clear choice in this election. Getting disdain from your co-workers because you chose to support (and not voting against is supporting) a racist, misogynistic, insurrectionist, convicted felon should be expected.

It's a lot more than abortion rights that are going to be lost and it's a lot more than American women of childbearing age that are going to suffer over the next 4+ years. This was a tragic decision for the United States and the world. It's not a question of whether it will be bad and people will suffer or not. It's just a question of how bad it will be and how severely people will suffer. I hope I'm wrong.

If you treat men and women differently, you're a misogynist. If you treat women the same way you treat men, you're a misogynist.

I thought Barbie really missed the mark... or I did. The whole movie is about how awesome Barbie land is where women rule and are in the power position that they perceive men to be in in the real world. And the real world is a misogynistic hell hole with cat calling, rape, men in power, and women being treated as second class citizens. They spend the entire movie showing the audience the difference between these two worlds and how one is a utopia for women while the other is nothing but danger a…

Men are more likely than women to want marriage and kids, according to Pew. The percentage of 18- to 34-year-old women wanting kids has fallen to 45% versus 57% for men.
